I am getting ready to install some rock lights and I was wondering if it is feasible to mount the controller somewhere above the steel skid plate and behind the bumper and winch? Has anyone done this? Anyone know a reason not to?

It seems to me it would be a lot less complicated to just run the power wires up through the engine rather then run the 8-12 set of light wires up through the engine to the controller. Makes for a neater install. The controller case is billet aluminum and supposed to be waterproof. Installing in next few days so would love some input please.

I haven't done it, but the ones I have installed have all been "not waterproof". If yours is, I'd give it a shot!

And a follow up, if I put some magnets on bottom to help secure it, would that interfere with electronics? Anyone done that before?

Magnets shouldn't hurt anything, but be ready for cleaning them off occasionally.
