Connected services delete credit?

So I added Sirius option on my build but under it reads the delete credit. I'm confused. My jeep hasn't shipped yet.

From connect.jeep.com:

"All vehicles properly equipped to receive connected services come with a 3-month trial of the full suite of Jeep Connect services effective from the date of purchase or lease of a new vehicle. Enrollment in the trial is required to receive service. Upon expiration of the trial period, purchase of a subscription is required to continue..."

Possibly that is the credit that applies here, not specifically the satellite radio service.

Mine has the antenna but no xm service and I double checked the window sticker and it didn’t have the $295 charge for XM. So I’m not sure what my option is now

To expand on my experience a little more on this topic:

I factory ordered a 2023 JLU Sport S on 8/25/22. It was delivered on 10/26/22. It came with the smaller 7" touchscreen.

I was told while shopping around that while the larger 8.4" displays come with the Connected Services, the 7" did not currently.

I did have the $165 'Connected Services Delete Credit' on my window sticker. My vehicle does have Sirius/XM radio stations, but there are no options/settings in the radio for any connection to the app, or any buttons above head for SOS or anything like that.

I personally don't think the $165 credit justifies what features are missing from the vehicle. On top of that, I don't know what all parts/chips are hard to get, or what's all involved with this, but it would be really nice if this could've been added back in later once the hardware becomes available (like my in-law's heated seat chip/module they just got installed after having their new Chevy SUV for 1 year).

While my dealer themselves didn't know too much about this situation, unfortunately talking to Jeep Connect reps directly made it seem that once the vehicle doesn't have this option, that's it, and there's no way to add this later.

Satellite radio is a separate service. The connected services in a Wrangler is what goes with the Uconnect app on your phone.

Can anyone tell me if you have the Connected Services Delete Credit on your window sticker can you still use the app to unlock and remote start. I got my 4XE last week and I was told to download the Jeep app by my dealer but all it has on it is my owners manuals and deal address on it. Im not sure if it should update or if it something my deal is not doing.

Why would anyone need to delete Sirius/XM from a build? Can't imagine it would be that hard to just unplug the satellite antenna or remove the module it's connected to.

I can't stand SiriusXM!!!

I don't have XM in my factory order. The feds are already tracking my phone, I don't need them seeing where I'm driving too!!

Did you link the 4xe's VIN to the Jeep app when you created your account? I was prompted for that particular data when doing the same for my new JLU.

If you did so, perhaps another member with a similarly-optioned Jeep can confirm whether or not the app actually provides the desired functionality.

Yes we did link it when setting up the app at the dealer.

I can't stand SiriusXM!!!

I believe when I factory ordered mine it wasn't a credit, it was just something you could add for like $250.

Satellite radio comes with a satellite antenna in your vehicle. Which means the feds can track you that much easier. The NSA is already all over our phones, I don't need them watching my vehicle as well!

The sat antenna shouldn't be able to transmit or receive anything if you disconnect it from the first module it touches. Same with the GPS antenna.

Not sure how hard it would be to trace these days, but only a decade ago it was just a single outboard module leading to the antenna and another cable routed back to the stereo. And I think before that, there was another smaller box for traffic and data services going only to the Sirius/XM module.

I'm actually just joking, the feds track us through chips in the car's computer system. Antennas don't seem to matter nowadays. Anything with a computer chip in it can be tracked. Don't say I didn't warn you!
