I know that a lot of you folks are pretty well schooled about Jeeps but I have a different problem. In addition to my Jeep, I also own a Blazer and a 2015 Camaro ZL1 convertible. I don't drive it very much any longer because using the clutch in stop and go traffic has gotten to be somewhat of a chore for me (I'm 80). The car only has 26000 miles on it and I start and run it for about 20 minutes the first of every month. The battery has finally given up the ghost and it is located in the trunk under the spare tire. Here's my problem: The trunk will not open with either the key fob, the button on the door panel or the emergency keyed release alongside the back seat behind the driver. Any ideas????

IIRC, my old Bimmer had jump posts under hood that could be used to feed power and pop the trunk.

Googled, should look like this by the shock tower. Sounds like there's just a positive, so you'll use a chassis ground:

You have a set of redundant battery posts under the hood. You can hook up a charger or battery maintainer and get enough juice going to pop the trunk.

Just a suggestion going forward, you can skip starting the Camaro every month. Just hook up a battery maintainer. Save starting it for when you or someone can drive it and bring everything up to operating temperature for a while.

If this is the end of the line for it, consider listing it on a site like Bring A Trailer, or Cars and Bids. Modern muscle cars do fairly well on those sites.

I had a similar issue with my 05 Crossfire. In this case, the door/trunk lock pneumatic pump failed, which is located in the locked trunk. Consequently I wasn't able to jump the battery to get it to open. I was able to remove the license plate lamps ( they just clip in) and manipulate the lock with a screwdriver. In your case I suspect jumping the battery using the under hood terminal will work, but just another idea in case it doesn't

I know about the under hood batt terminal and tried jumping the batt from my Jeep to get the car to either start or enough juice to open the trunk. Didn't work. I called my Chevy dealer and was told to apply a lot of force to the key slot lock in the back seat and it would open. Naturally, I was afraid of breaking the key off in the key slot, sooo....I inserted the key, put a pair of pliers on it and handed it off to my Bride (everyone knows that women are much more violent than men after all) After a bit of groaning and growling...POP! the trunk opened. Now I can replace the battery. Thanks for all your suggestions, folks. I really do appreciate you guys and gals.

This is no where near the end of the line for the Camaro, just our relationship. I had it custom built in 2015 and waited 3 months for it to be delivered. It's a Bright Yellow ZL1 convertible with a black exposed carbon fiber hood insert, 6 speed manual transmission, 6.2 liter 600hp LSA aluminum block engine. It's been garaged and covered whenever not on the road and most of the miles are in blocks of 3000 to 6000 on fall color trips to New England, weeklong trips to the Everglades and Key West and weekend trips to Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA. The only stop and go clutch-HELL driving has been along the Florida Panhandle coast to or from Alabama. I'll be listing it on a muscle car site for $45K.

If you hold onto it for a bit and decide to grab a maintainer/charger, I've had good luck with the NOCO Genius brand. The little GENIUS2D is only $40 and should be able to mount in the battery compartment and make it easy to plug/unplug.

And a trunk that the owner can't easily open, if at all, in certain foreseeable circumstances.
Remember to mention that in your ad. ;)

No worries, Grasshopper! I will also be mentioning that I once had a flat in my left rear tire as well as driving through a swarm of Love Bugs in Savannah. And the trunk problem is quite manageable with a determined female at the helm!!

I actually considered something like that but didn't want to scratch the paint
Just wrap it in tape before you start, lol.
