Cluster Display

Just picked up new JL Rubicon and after 1 day, the cluster display between the tach and speedo no longer functions. Took it to the dealer, they called the Jeep Tech Hotline, they couldn't figure it out either. Checked fuses and dealer plugged into diagnostic computer -- no codes.

Any ideas?

I haven’t heard of this one yet. Did you try unplugging both batteries to do a system reboot. That seems to fix a lot of electrical issues with the new JL’s.

The same exact thing just happened to my 18' JL Rubicon on Wednesday. Jeep sat at a dealer all day yesterday and they couldn't figure it out so they order an entire new cluster. Getting it installed today. Tech said hopefully new cluster fixes issue...If not, they have no idea how to resolve.

Just heard back from dealer. Part wont arrive till Tuesday. Will circle back next week.

Did you get your instrument cluster installed? I waited on one for three weeks before I gave up today. Jeep told me I would have to wait another two weeks.

Still waiting. Talked to my local dealer and they told me that it's taking longer than expected to get the part because the problem is hitting more Jeeps that originally thought. Also, Jeep Customer Care reached out to us and opened a case file. Will let forum know how this progresses.

I have waited 3 weeks for one, just came in on Monday. They can't work me in until next week though. The crazy thing is they have to order it with the odometer mileage so technically your not supposed to drive it. After sitting there for a week I went and got my Jeep back because I had a wheeling trip planned. I've kept it in my possession since and I try not putting any extra miles on it since I have a commuter car, but sometimes you just have to drive it, lol.

Yeah, I went through 3 ETA's before it came in. The problem as I understand it is that there is a 3 week backorder on the clusters. I wouldn't be so quick to jump ship on the Jeep, Ford has had their fair share of problems too.

I have had 6 jeeps,several with 100,000+ and yes all vehicles will have some problems. Jeep lets you "go where no man has gone before" Owning a JEEP is like family. Also be prepared because JEEP stands for " just empty every pocket" not in repairs but in all the wonderful after market parts you can add.

Update: Dealer finally got cluster in (approx. 4 week backorder) and they just said everything is working fine again. If this happens to you...just be ready to wait for the part. Good thing is, my miles were on the house for 4 weeks too !

Same thing happened to us. We got our new cluster display about 2 weeks ago after waiting about 3 weeks. Everything is working fine now.
