anybody have this code? I'm right at 15000 miles, JLU sport S 3.6 auto. It says small evap canister leak. I've had an audi that had the same type of code and i needed a new gas cap. Any help/info is appreciated.

I just got the same code over the weekend! 10,000 miles JLU Sport S manual. I installed a non-mopar fuel door on mine that never fit right and pops out every time I put the fuel nozzle in at the pump so I'm thinking that's my issue. I will reinstall the stock one soon and see if that fixes it.

I'm @2430 miles and had my 2018 JLUR in for service four times for the Check (Malfunction) Engine Light and the Gas Cap light. The dealership doesn't seem to be knowledgeable enough to fix it. Unfortunately, the next nearest dealership is nearly two hours away.
They've so far, replaced: 4861962AC: Detector: EvaporatIive System
68321481AA: Seal: Vapor Canister
4627694AB: Valve: Purge Control
68339342AA: Cap: Fuel Filler
That was only after three services where they only reset the light and I demanded that they do something.
Less than 100 miles after each service the lights come back on.
Each time I get one or more of these codes:
P0456 EVAP System Leak Detected
P0440 EVAP System
P0457 EVAP System Leak Detected (fuel cap loose/off)

And yes, my gas cap is always turned to it clicks.

I hope you are more fortunate than me and get your's resolved. If you do: please share your resolution.

I cleared the code once at a parts store and it has not come back on. I hope that you get yours resolved. I wish I could be of more help.

Check the vacuum lines running to your air intake and make sure they are clipped on firmly. I ran into something along these lines and both of mine were not firmly connected. I do have a 2.0, so it might have slightly different lines.

Re: the aftermarket gas cap, you've probably already identified your issue. :)

I like to keep my service conversations limited to email and JeepCares seems to only want to contact through phone. I like to keep a record of these conversations and phone at my home is spotty(I usually only get a voicemail notification, instead of getting the phone call; so I end up playing phone tag).

I have an appointment to return to the dealership(for the 5th time) on Tuesday, February 19. The service manager says he spoke to an engineer at Chrysler. He said they have had two other cases like mine and it ended up being wiring problems. He also said that be ordered the other two parts that could be causing this; so they can be replaced if needed.

I am new to this forum and only because I traded in my 2015 JK which I never had issues with for a 2018 JL unlimited Sport. I had driven it under 550 miles when the service engine light went on. The very codes you had were the same ones I had. The dealer had my JL for over a week and stated they repaired the issue. I noticed the engine light turn on and off quickly when it is turned on. I suspect they reprogrammed the software and not necessarily fixed the issue. Do you have any feedback or recommendation on where I can take the JL to ensure this is not the case? Thanks!
