Me again. Checked coolant level this morning didn't register on dipstick so I added the correct coolant, about a pint. Is it supposed to be checked with the Jeep running? Thank you.
No, do not check when it is running. If the engine is cold, off, the level should register above MIN.
If you do a warm check, it should be above min but below MAX. Never open a hot radiator or overflow tank. Read the owner's manual if you need clarification on how to check the level.
My 2.0 was reading below min shortly after I purchased it new. I added enough to bring it up to max when the engine was cold. In 2,000 miles of driving since then the level hasn't changed so I'm thinking there's air from the factory or it's just under-filled.
