Wow the passage of time has not been good to this trail. I remember driving it back in the mid 2005 ish time frame when I lived in Tucson. We did it in my very lightly modified TJ, and it was rather uneventful. We went to Chivo falls, and back side of Mt Lemon on Rice peak as well.

Just ask @cosine he knows!
Nice trip report, definitely not tuning up for the mall :)
Crazy enough dealing w/ that in the day let alone 1 in the morning. Nice job on that hard line run too!
Glad you were able to have successful recoveries and some good stories to share :) Looks like something I'd like to try someday, but my wife wouldn't like all the parts I'd say I needed to get it done lol.

BTW, have you been happy w/ the Bronco thus far, looks like they did pretty well out there.

The Bronco did great, all things considered. My wife is a really good off road driver, and that can make a huge difference on trails like this. It keeps up with the Jeeps off road, has been comfortable on road, just we expected. I like my jeep better, but I'm not going to bash on the Bronco after seeing it do some of the things we've put it through!

Time has definitely chewed up those roads but that's been accelerated the past couple of years due to the increase in SxS traffic.
