New to the forum and new to our 2024 Wrangler 4xe - still new. I have seen all of the estimates for charging times between Level 1 (12-16 hours seems common) and Level 2 (around 2.5 hours). Has anyone run into a circumstance in which the vehicle estimates a charge time of say 14 hours and is routinely taking 24 hours+ to achieve a full charge with a Level 1 Mopar issue charger with a dedicated 15 amp circuit. Is there something I should be looking for like a setting (none of the schedules are set to active). Or has anyone had a similar experience and found a simple solution, even something specific to ask the dealer about? I understand the estimate and actual are going to be off but the 24 hour charging cycle seems to be a bit much.

I've never used my Level 1 Charger. But my Level 2 is usually right at 2 hours and 20 mins from <1% to 100%. It did get "stuck" at 99% a few times and I didn't get notified that it's fully charged for a while after that.

If you unplug it after 14 hours, what percentage would you be at? Do you have any friends with an EV/PHEV that you can test with? If the same thing happens with them, then you know it's an issue with the charger or the outlet.

I use the Mopar level 1 as well as a level 2. The level 1 normally estimates at most 14 hours, but I have never seen it take more than 12 hours when <1. It typically takes 11 hours for mine to charge, but the estimate is never less than 12.

My level 1 takes about 16 hours and level 2 takes 2.5 hours. If you daily drive your 4xe, the level 2 is a must.

Something is off if it’s taking that long to charge. Is it very hot or cold where you charge? The system will need to maintain the battery temperature within a set limit while charging, if it’s unable to do that it will slow charge rate or stop. Maybe check your battery coolant level? The battery coolant needs to be purged using a dealer software tool. If it had an air bubble from the factory it could be causing charging issues.

Document the variation in charge times between estimated and actual snd see the dealer.

When new my level 1 was 12.5-14 hours. One my level 2 was installed no more than 2.5 hours. Even public chargers max at about 2 hours when the battery still has some stored electricity.

I'm curious if all that changes when recall replacement is complete.

I understand the estimate and actual are going to be off but the 24 hour charging cycle seems to be a bit much.
24 hours to top off 15kWh (the amount of available from the ~17kWh), means you're getting about 0.625kW output from your circuit.

A 15a @ 120v, should be 80% of the circuit amps (this is the case regardless of L1 or L2), i.e., 12a x 120 = 1440w, then let's say it's running pretty inefficient, drop that by 20%, that's 1152 or 1.152kW and at that rate, you should still see a full charge from <1% in ~13 hours.

Seems like your circuit is running at about 1/2 spec, there's not really any adjustments, the 4xe will handshake and determine the max power available (like ours does it's 32a max from our 40a L2).

You sure that's an isolated circuit? I'd start there, see what kind of load it supports, work backwards to the vehicle
