Change model after VIN

Hi,
I ordered a willys and later realized that all the features that I want come by default in high altitude. My dealer made a fuss about it but some talking he changed it(VON wasn’t even generated). Later on I found out that there is a $7,500 rebate on 4xe. I apologized to my dealer that I made a mistake and didn’t know about the rebate and that if he could check if my order can be changed. He just replied to my email saying that VIN has been generated and they can’t change it now since they already changed once. I checked with Jeep and they also gave me the same vin.
can I ask him to cancel my order and re-order? Does anyone Know if I can change my order ?Jeep told me that they are in the parts gathering phase of my order.
What happens if I cancel my order ? Will the dealership still have to keep it ?
does anyone have any other recommendations for another dealer who can get me a nice discount and help me with my order in case I cancel my order ?

Your order is non-binding. Re-order what you want. The worse is you lose your deposit if you go to another dealer, but you're still $$ ahead because of the rebate. And yes, I believe the dealer gets that Jeep to sell on their lot.

I cancelled my order, it is really not a cancel just telling them I would not take delivery. $500 on deposit there was nothing binding so I expect to get that back. Basically once I found out all the standard stuff on the Rubicon and another dealer priced it at just under 1000 dollars more than the Willys there was no way I wanted to keep the original order. They didn't seem to care a whole lot and tried to sell me a 2021 Rubicon that was in transit but no diesel no buy.

I am not hurting them at all, they will put it on the lot and not get dinged for it and probably sell it a bit higher than what they would have sold it to me.

If there was no VON on the original Willys then he didn't even bother to order it yet. His lost and should not have fussed about anything for being too lazy to type some numbers into a computer.

It's not a $7500 rebate, it's a $7500 tax credit. Make sure you qualify for the tax credit (unless you are leasing).
