Waiting for my 23 JLU Willys to get built, I'm looking at options for cargo area protection. I'm wanting something mostly just for general protection when carrying things but also when my German Shepherd will ride in the back.

At first I was thinking I'd go with this Quadratec all-weather liner: https://www.quadratec.com/p/quadrat...cargo-liner-jeep-wrangler-jl-4-door-unlimited.

But then I came across this Mopar liner that covers the back of the seats also: https://www.quadratec.com/p/mopar/cargo-tray-jeep-wrangler-jl.

Has anyone used the Mopar liner? I love that it would match the all-weather mats and covers the seats also. From the installation video it looks like it attaches to factory holes in the back seats that were meant to accept these liners.

The only downside seems to be that the floor mat doesn't cover the whole cargo area. Other than that, looks awesome.

Anyone with experience?

I'm in the market, too.

I think it's nice that the Mopar pads cover the seat backs, and that's useful if you often fold them down to carry stuff back there. They also pin to the seat backs, and since the pads connect together, it seems like the pad won't slide around at all.

I wish the Quaratec pad just sits there, just like the Weathertech pad. I wish they fastened to (like, under) the D-hook anchors. When cargo mats slide around, they really lose their purpose.

(And the Mopar pad shows those sweet cargo rails, so I'm off down that rabbit hole now.)

I haven’t used those, but when my husband had a JK he had these (https://www.canvasback.com/) and also has that in his Volvo Polestar. I have a set on order for my soon to arrive JL. They’re made to order in the USA. Not affiliated with them at all, I’m just a fan from my prior purchase.

It won’t protect from liquids that much, but is good on dirt grime and dog hair. I like these because a cargo mat won’t cover the wheel well and side carpet, and those collect dog hair like a magnet. For the two door, they also have a piece to cover the seats when they’re collapsed forward

I have the Mopar ones and like the factory fit. You will have to feel around the back of the seats for the holes then slice the carpet a little over each one to install the connectors that the mat snaps into. As a fellow dog owner I have paired the mats with the Mopar pet kennel that you can collapse when not in use.

The canvasback liner looks really nice. I like the full coverage for the cargo floor, sides, and seat backs. I'd be worried though about the material being a too loose and slippery for more dog. But I do really like the fit and look of it, especially how the black color blends in.

Is the fit of the mats on the seat backs tight and flush? Or do you think a dog pawing at them will pull them off?

I would say you need to use an exacto knife to make the incisions into the carpet to ensure a tight fit of the plastic sockets that the mat snaps into. If you take the time to do that, the mats should endure the pawing.

My dog is a lunatic, so I had to add the pop up kennel to keep her safe and calm. It sits right on the mat and has four tie downs with caribeaners that click onto the rings on either side of the mat. I have a JLUR so there is plenty of room for this and I can undo the two main rails for it to collapse when not needed.

If your dog gets crazy in the car when other people or animals are near, I highly recommend this approach otherwise you will have lots of scratched up internal plastic trim and dog hair everywhere :)

I really wanted the mopar liner because it went on the back of the seats, but I didn't like that it only covered the middle section of the cargo area. I ended up just getting a weathertech cargo liner. I have dog hair and dirt all over the back of the seats. *sigh*

I may end up getting the Mopar liner just for the backseat protection then put a more full cargo liner like Quadratec or Weathertech on top to cover the whole floor. But then it all gets expensive.

I put the mopar liners in my jeep. They don't cover everything but most of it. I don't know what the difference is but the rubber mats are different for leather and cloth seats. I have cloth. I took a pocket knife to open the seat backing at the holes. A large grommet pushes in and the mat snaps in and out of the grommet easily. There is a flap between the seat and the rear floor that is part of this system too. I think it was well worth the effort. Good Luck.

Ya I had that same thought process, but seemed sily to pay $140ish for the mopar liner just for the seat back portion.

What really needs to happen is armorlite needs to come out with their cargo area protector for the JLU. I already have the front and rear flooring.

I have these installed in my Jeep. I really like how they attach to the back of the seat. As someone else said I haul a lot of stuff as well with the seats laid down.

If you have the 4Xe, make sure you order the ones for the 4Xe.The back mat does not attach like it does for the non-EVs models.

Did the install today and really like the fit etc. of this liner. My only issue is I also have the Tuffy Security Enclosre for when the roof is off. Will need to mod the back panel of the Tuffy to get the bolt holes to align. Nothing that a tape measure and grinder with a cutting wheel can't solve.
