Not worried about rust around here.
Ive read on reviews that the winch plate is crappy and the hooks dont line up with the frame holes.
I figured on buying an aftermarket plate anyways and reuse my hooks.
Sounds like it'll work OK.
Thx.

I prefer the stupid stuff to still have a purpose other than appearance though. But that is definitely only a personal opinion. But most of my stupid stuff has increased the capability of the Jeep in some way.

These closeout panels are as ridiculous as an angry grill.....

(Looks at OPs Jeep again)

Yeah, that checks out.

The plastic bumpers come with close out panels. Wondering if they would fit on the OEM steel bumpers without too much modification?

Contrary to what people in Texas think,
up north where we have below zero temperatures for months on end,
these will help with the thawing and refreezing from tire spray that will cause the fog light wiring to become brittle and rust off, prolonging the life of the fog lights and wiring.
Having just bought a Rubicon takeoff metal bumper, I'm interested in this thread and solutions.

Not meaning to hijack the thread, but are those amazon rubicon knockoff bumpers any good?
Are the winch plate and hooks strong enough?

I like the Rubicon metal bumpers and the way they mount the winch lower so that it doesn't severely affect the air flow and I'd love to get one but the oem ones are just so damn expensive.

Just wondering i guess...
Thats the bumper in the picture , came from Amazon , no fitment issues on my 2026 except i had to modify the driving lights.

Yeah, theres a bunch on Amazon that look the same.
I figure I'll buy a good winch plate and reuse my stock hooks and go for it.

I wouldn't have considered it but being in a hot climate (gonna be 105° here this weekend and higher next month) I figure i should block as little of the airflow as possible.

Man, I get it, I lived further north than most Canadians for six years. Ice and salt are tough on vehicles.

Being a cheap mofo, gonna have these closeout panels, cnc routered on some black sintra, will report back in a few days on success or failure.

Pretty sure they will need some sanding/grinding for fit. Rough cardboard template, scanned, then converted to a vector file.

Quoting me without quoting me? That's just silly.

I might be in Texas now, but I lived NORTH of you in upstate NY for a number of years. And I understand that salt spray can be wicked to exposed metal. So in this instance, you are actually using the part to increase it's capability instead of just being cosmetic. Which was the whole issue I had with it in the first place. Good Job, you validated my opinion.
