Hey All, Im new to the Forum, congrats on all the new purchases on the JL's.

Mine was just delivered today, and although I built it, it came without the LED Group, which was something I really wanted. Any recommendations before I tell the dealer to find me what I ordered!
“came without it”

Does this mean it was built without an option that you paid for (LEDs), or does this mean that you didn’t read your order carefully enough to see that the order was placed without LEDs (whether or not you wanted them being a secondary issue..)?

Maybe they did it for "safety reasons" or an "upgrade" .. Ya know.. a little snow flake or 2 and ya can't drive with the LED package anyway :) ..

Seriously.. I would not settle if it were on your order/build sheet. They are awesome. Was the only feature I had to have and love it.

Does that front end extend the depth of the light buckets and have a designed HID system? Long discussion in the JK forums on adding Japanese HID lights to existing Jeep lights including light engineers testing several and explaining why none provide good beam patterns and all were illegal. Also, do you only run white lights when on the road? Having been in law enforcement we relished anyone that ran illegal add-ons, great excuse to pull over and look for more serious violations. And if the driver gave us any problems about the color of the lights the vehicle was towed/impounded until it was street legal. Only colors legal for the front in all states is white and amber unless you are police, fire, ambulance and in some states government vehicles like snow plows.

@nerubi , the lights housings r installed to the frame of the jeep(like the stock set) the “brumper” i bought is like 8” off set from the lights, the reason i use HIDprojectors products is bc they use a “projector” as height/low beam and there is no interference between the lights and my “brumper” i have attached a couple pictures where u can see the clean cutoff of the projector(did my best shooting the photos for u to see) about the “angel eyes” i do not run red, green, blue on road (sometimes i try my luck) but the whites and amber, the advantage of this set is tht u can change the colors from ur phone to any color but i do know other color r ilegal, this also r not DOT approved so i been told i won’t pass virginia safety inspection (i still believe they will) but in the event this set do not pass i would just swap the stock housings (i still have them) just to pass virginia safety inspection, i’ll be glad to answer any questions u may have .

Any of you with LED lights live in cold/snow areas? How is it driving with LED in the snow? Does the snow accumulate causing loss of light and safety issues?

I’ve ordered, but have not received my vehicle yet. I live in Colorado, so am a bit concerned about the LED lights and snow.

my understanding is tht LED lights let snow build up and doesn’t melt snow as good as incandescent lights or projectors do, projectors melt snow in seconds i live in virginia and we have had our first snow storm and no need to clean up snow on my set

My wife and I both have LEDs on our JLs and for that first DC area snow, no clean up either. Not saying it melted, but if definitely didn’t build up. I also wouldn’t qualify that first snow as a snow.

This was covered exhaustively in another thread, to the tune of over 20 pages. Lets not do this again in this thread.
