Can't tell for sure from the pictures, but the lower spare tire location might interfere with the use of the hitch. On my liberty, they did the same thing and you have to either get an extension or remove the spare tire to use the hitch.

Do you think the black 2 door has a lift. The front is riding a bit high without the bumper. And there seems to be a lot more room between the wheels and flares compared to pics of the 4 door rubicons. It also looks like the front shocks are silver like Fox shocks.
I was thinking the same thing. Maybe they are testing the Mopar 2” lift.

I'm guessing they are still pre-production models and swapping parts back and forth for now. I'm waiting until I see them in person before passing judgement. They really need to fix that JLU soft top. Looks like some fat guy sat on it and broke it behind the rear doors.

JL Overland absolutely needs to come to Canada and the US!!!!
When is Jeep going to learn that luxury vehicles are hot and sell and profitable. That is why Porsche and mercedes and bmw sell so well because they are nicely finished and luxurious. Even the Bentley has capability and super luxury!!!!!

Jeep literally invented the luxury sport ute and they are not doing as their philosophy dictates. CAPABILITY + LUXURY = LUXURY SPORT UTILITY.

So we need an overland model of the Rubicon and Sahara. If Jeep doesn't offer an overland JL in Canada I'm getting the Ford Bronco. I'm done with Jeep!!!

These wheels are from Mopar catalogue. Obviously this isn’t a stock JL, so they’re probably testing Mopar parts on it.

At this point, I’m looking at the JL and thinking that the low end models look absolutely horrible. Even the high end Sahara looks pretty bad. The JK willy’s offers almost-Rubicon performance for Sport pricing. I think that is where my money might go.

I'm guessing it won't be long until they launch the Overland model here in the US. GMC has Denali, Chevy has High Country and Buick is pushing its Avenir premium models. Plus the Lincoln and Caddy SUVs are booming. Jeep will make a ton of money if they fluff up the Wrangler.

The four door soft top looks like poop. Soft windows don’t align with glass windows.

Thought the same thing. Weird considering the two door soft top is one of my favorite additions to the new Wrangler's styling.

I really dislike that highline fender thing they have going on up front. Actually I take that back, I really dislike that they did a highline up front but did nothing in the rear. It looks like crap that they only did half the job. For those who wanted the Redneck DIY look direct from the factory they can order the Rubicon.
Its probably done purely from a functional stand point. As the front tires need more room due to turning where the rears do not.

I think you're spot on with this.

Not sure I completely agree with that. Mopar already sells a high line fender set for the JK that includes rears. No reason seen why they couldn't have rears for the JL. Maybe there is an unseen reason but...
I did not know that. I keep watching the Rubi JLs hoping to see a rear highline to match the front. I wonder if the high line will be standard on the Rubi or if they are testing a Mopar aftermarket highline kit. Maybe the tub is similar enough to not require testing in the rear. From a purely functional standpoint I suppose the front highline serves a purpose to give the front wheels more flex. Even if the rear can't match it. But from a purely aesthetic point of view. I would be tempted to get rid of the highlines for a standard fender. Unless a rear highline was available, but then whey not make it standard with the front? I guess we will see in time. I just thought it looked half baked with only the front having a highline and I wondered if anyone else noticed it.

I think that is just because of the highline kit in the front. Its more noticeable on the short Jeep because the front and rear fenders are closer together.

I can't wait to see what the diesel take will be on this Jeep. So many of you are totally disillusioned by diesels. I have a 6.7 Cummins in my truck and it's awesome because I tow 30 000# often like at least twice a week and every other day its minimum 15000 to 20000 lbs. But maintenance is so expensive, fuel filters need changing at 16000 miles and cost over $100. Oil is expensive, diesel is more expensive than gas most of the time and the noise, the warm up and fast idles in cold temps, and that's because Cummins has the absolute best diesel out there, least expensive to maintain. What are you guys going to do with the 3.0? its loud, its heavy its totally expensive like $4000 more (BTW, $4000 buys a lot of gas) its slow, it needs special attention for start ups. No one knows how to work on them even the dealers. I know dealers are clueless when it comes to my Cummins. Maybe in the 1500 Ram and the Scrambler, but in the grand Cherokee and wrangler???? I think it's a bad application. Total marketing. In the long run you will pay much more for the diesel unless you keep the car 20 years and go 1 000 000 miles, then it starts to become profitable. But most guys change in 4 years and less than 100 000 miles so all a total waste.
