A friend gifted me a bottle of Horse Soldiers awhile back and I absolutely loved it. Usually I'm left unimpressed with the first release from new distillers. It's understandable; they ship too soon to help get the cash flowing and the whiskey tastes just a little too green. But these guys... oh man!, their stuff is fantastic, especially the Single Barrel.

My nephew just sent me a jug of Basil Hayden. Haven't broken the seal on it yet, but I've always been curious about that particular brand.
