Check out what I just got! Arrived today safe and sound. I can’t wait to crack a bottle tonight. It’s been too long since I have seen a bottle of this in Florida! Thank you @Chocolate Thunder!

A new find for anyone in the Austin area (not sure about availability outside of Austin). I'm a big fan of their previous two bourbons and this one does not disappoint either.

Also, was able to round out my Weller line-up...

How difficult is it to get that weller line up?

Damn near impossible, at least around here. I had a connection that got me the Single Barrel and Full Proof at MSRP, but he recently left the liquor business. Not sure when I'll see them again.

I've only encountered one bottle of the Single Barrel since it was released. I've been able to purchase 4 bottles of the Full Proof. Two at silly prices and two at MSRP.

Get the CYPB then you’ll have my complete envy. I’ve never had the single barrel and the 107 only once.

The SB is quite delicious. That lineup is in my order of taste preference. I like the 107, but think the 12yr is better. The full proof is easily on my Top5, if not Top3 list.

A fun thing to try if you have the 107 and 12yr available to you is blend "Poor Man's Pappy".
Mix a 3:2 (60% : 40%) blend of 107 to 12yr, respectively. It's not quite as good as Pappy, but it's damn tasty.

My wife and I are itching to do the Kentucky Bourbon Trail as soon as the kids are out, or maybe just old enough.

As someone with kids and who has spent many hours and dollars on the Bourbon Trail, I definitely support having the first experience without them or anyone who's not fully into whiskey and of age.

Most of the distilleries are not remotely close together; easily 35-45+ minute drives to go from one to another. The land around and between them is generally beautiful. But if you're not excited about the next destination that much time in the car can be a downer.

The tours, while fun if you're into whiskey, are repetitive and each only provide small tidbits of varying information about the semi-unique history of each company. The sampling rooms/experiences are where the real experiences happen.

I told both of my teenage kids that I'll be happy to take them on the trail when they're of drinking age and I've taught them the finer points of how to properly and safely imbibe. It would all be lost on them if they're underage or 21+ but just pouring Jim Beam into their Cokes...

All of my trips to the distilleries have been Guys' Trips with fellow enthusiasts because none of our significant others care for whiskey. And I kinda like it that way...

Found a new year one that I’ve wanted to try. Smoke Wagon. It’s MGP juice but aged on the dry heat of Vegas.

The Stranahan’s Sherry Cask is “bourbon adjacent” American single malt. Pay no attention to the other two, those aren’t for drinking but to make a delicious Reece’s peanut butter shake (blended with Bluebell homemade vanilla).

Yum. What's your peanut butter shake recipe?
Pint of Bluebell homemade vanilla
3 oz of Godiva chocolate liqueur
1 oz Skrewball peanut butter whiskey

Blended it all in the blender. Not a bad first attempt. However the next time I’m going to tweak it. Texas Ranger peanut butter whiskey tastes better (I tried a little sample 50ml bottle). Also it was a little bit thin so I’m going to cut the chocolate liqueur from 3 oz to 2 and add some chocolate syrup.

Love that you guys have a special bottle to share. Once it's open and gets close to being about half empty, make sure you move it to a smaller container. Preferably one that gets nearly filled by however much you have left. Whiskey will start to oxidize and serious mess up the flavor after a bottle has been open for around 6 months.
