Jack Daniel's is far more than Old No. 7. If you're a whiskey lover/sipper and you like high proof whiskey Jack Daniel's Single Barrel Barrel Proof(SBBP) is BTAC level whiskey always on shelves for about $80. If you don't like higher proof, Single Barrel Select are also fantastic at $50 and some of the barrel picks are outstanding. If you're lucky enough to find the 10, 12, 14 year for a reasonable price they are some of the best on the planet as are their annual special releases. If you have a local store that does a lot of barrel picks and has a SBBP or Single Barrel Select they probably offer sample, you should try them.
I've had Gentleman Jack and found it to be a very decent sipper.

Ya, JD #7 is meh, but some of the higher end JD stuff is damn good.
I like Gentlemen Jack Daniels. I think from a price point it is a good deal. I also enjoy the single barrel.

I was recently gifted a few whiskeys, due to medical therapy for the next couple months that will discourage me from drinking beer and wine. Actually, I had to give up beer earlier this year due to gout.

Last night, a friend gave me a bottle of Jameson Black Barrel. Earlier friends and family gifted me a handful of different whiskeys. Booker's, 4 Roses, Gentleman Jack, Redbreast Irish whiskey, and a few I forget. I'm familiar with most, but the Booker's and 4 Roses is new to me.

Should be some good sippin.

Went to JD distillery a few years before covid. Fun place. Learned a bit about their whiskeys. Agree, they do a lot more than No.7. Truth is, I never had much liking for No.7 but I'd accept it when there wasn't other choices. Cracked the seal on some Gentleman Jack a week ago.

Both are some smooth whiskey. We went to Jameson's in Dublin in 2017. They had a lot of whiskeys not seen here.

I love Booker's but not everyone does. They are from Jim Beam and there are usually 3 batches released each year. You know the proof is there and the flavors are a punch in the face along with the proof. They are usually pretty nutty and never have the same flavor profile from batch to batch. Four Roses, just the opposite. Nice soft whiskey, classic bourbon notes with their unique profiles and very consistent. Both are quality whiskey. Four Roses has a number of different yeast strains and mash bills and they use a lettering system to break them down.
