I've had an annoying clunk from my front suspension for months. I finally managed to track it down to the upper shock bushing on the driver's side. These are just inexpensive Skyjacker shocks I installed when I installed my lift.
Anyway, the rubber bushing had completely failed. The shock eyelet was actually countersunk for a conical seat on each side. I through drilled it with an 1-1/8" unibit I had so could just turn straight, square bushings.
I also had to mill the shoulder of each bushing flat so it would clear the eyelet welds. I used a random piece of acetal that was kicking around the shop.
Clunk is gone, I'm satisfied
