I'm a bit confused about how the bikini tops work in conjunction with the softops/hardtops. I understand their purpose (reduce direct sun and wind) but not their installation. Do you just remove the hardtop/throw the softtop back then throw on the bikini top? Once you have the initial install (fasteners) complete is it a quick install/uninstall?

The goal is that if the weather is nice I can throw the top back, throw the bikini top on, and then the reverse at the destination (SW Ohio's unpredictable weather makes leaving just the bikini top all day an unappealing option to me). Is that realistic or is the bikini top install a 30+ minute affair each time?

I appreciate any insight.

I have a two piece bikini top that stays on under the hard top. Have no real issues aside from being harder to reach the release latches

Thanks for the input! Is your the Mopar "sun bonnet" or a 3rd party option?

Try a JTops bikini, it will work with a hard or soft top. It gives you some relief from the sun when the top is off. Best I’ve found in 30 years of Jeep ownership, and many different types of Jeeps, from CJ-5 all the way up to my JL. Have had them all, except a Scrambler.

Try a JtopsUSA bikini. They stay on under the hard OR soft top, only have to be installed once. They are pricey, but cry once and love it for a long time. A lot of the other ones out there you have to drop your windshield to install them the first time, and might not be that easy to flip latches on hard top. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM. No, I’m not on their payroll or anything, I just love the product.

Look at Spiderweb Shades, stay on under the hardtop or soft top.
