After owning our fairly stock Willys diesel for almost two years we decided to start the overland build. Our goal is to build a budget daily driver that’s capable of overland travels with our granddaughters. We recently switched from the OEM Firestone MT’s to Toyo Open Country AT III’s. They’re so much quieter!
Build items so far: Tactik stubby front winch bumper and a 10k winch(installed). Go Rhino 75” SRM500 flat roof rack with the roll cage mount (installed). For sleeping we have a Body Armor 4x4 4-person rooftop tent with the annex, along with a driver’s side 270* awning with walls. I purchased a Set Power 58qt dual zone fridge/freezer and slide. Finally, I fabricated a new rear cargo floor to mount a storage container system on the driver side and the fridge/slider on the passenger side. We just couldn’t see spending gobs of money on something that we could do ourselves. Plus it only took me two hours and $30 to complete.
