Before the snow falls I promised myself to spray paint the muffler with black colored high hear resistant paint. If I had a chance to lift up the Jeep higher I would spray the entire length of the exhaust system specially the welded parts and the steel mounts. I hate to see rust anywhere and I have noticed that the high heat resistant paint does really great job protecting any metal part that is exposed to the elements . The very corrosive road salt that is richly distributed on the surface of our communications here in Ontario is car owners enemy # 1.
Damn, well done, it looks great and the protection is an added bonus. Also your thread title is poetic. It sounds like it could be the name of a short film based on a Jack London novel or something.
I'm going to do similar coverage but I'll add Fluid Film to the inside of the frame and some external parts, too, in late October. My old JK still looks pretty darned good after 12 years of doing this type of thing, except that I didn't use Fluid Film until last year. The stuff stinks a bit, but does a great job.
I cringe every time I see how the pipe is pinched before it goes into the muffler. If I pull it off for painting I'll surely be tempted to go aftermarket.
