Hi everyone,
Im a newbie here. I have a 2020 JLU and I am wanting (dreaming?) to put a Dometic 55im on a Dometic slide in the back of my Wrangler. I researched and exhausted myself trying to find the best options to do this.
Plenty of people say that you can't fit this in the back on the US driver side. Most slides have the release protruding in front of fridge - however with the Dometic slide it JUST fits (as a placement test with no floor mods). My thinking was with the Dometic slide to laser cut the 4 round fridge leg holes and bring them forward therefor fridge forward 18mm so the slide is almost flush with the edge of the fridge which seems to be the core problem. The slide has about 20mm space front and back when used normally. With the tilting of the back seat - the now 40mm approx space behind the fridge can sit in this gap. Due to the slanting of the seat having the base plate lifting the fridge higher is not an option. So I either get the goose gear plate system and mount the slide on this - which with freight to Australia is a crazy price. Or make my own. The AAL plate I am not sure how that would work in mounting a Dometic slide?
Does anyone know of a template of the wrangler floor that exists to laser cut a sheet of ply from or another form of strong material that would work (still investigating other materials)

Has anyone pulled off getting a 55im on a slide driver side here yet??

Thanks in advance.

I was in the same boat. And I got mine just before Covid ringing suppliers for extension of returns window if needed...
So just a heads up I didnt go goose gear slide out plate. I went the Dometic fridge slide on the goose gear platform.
Ingredients:
1. Goosegear Platform
2. marine ply (from memory 6mm)
3. 55 Dometic fridge slide.
4. 4 matching bolts to fix fridge from below but longer to cater for the plywood.

Basically I made a template of the fridge base to cater for moving the fridge forward as they sit in the middle of the slide which doesn't work as it hits the sit. Its a very snug fit but if precise it won't rub on slide or back door.
I uploaded the picture in profile also have a shelf above fridge from American adventure lab.

Like I said ill do a better upload soon.

This is exactly what I'd like to achieve. You did an amazing job on this! Would it be possible to see some additional photos?

Do you think this might be possible on the same side of the cargo area using the DFG slide and tilt bracket mounted to a Goose Gear plate? I would like the DFG's tilt feature to compensate for the height of my JLU. I would be willing to make modifications to the DFG slide in order to place the fridge precisely where needed as you did or even to remove some material from the front or back of the slide for additional clearance. I am also ok with removing the fridge handles if needed and securing the fridge to the slide with other means.

Finally, did you have any challenges specific to interference with your Goose Gear tailgate table? I like the Goose Gear table but it looks as though it may be slightly deeper when folded up than the Outback Adventures JL Trailgater table.

Two additional questions:

What is the remaining cargo width between the Dometic slide (not the fridge) and the passenger side wall?

Why did you decide to position the fridge and slide where you did between the passenger and driver side?

And apologies, my references to driver side and passenger side are for the US. I know you are in AU and am not sure which side your steering wheel is on. I've seen photos of JKs with the steering wheel on the right but also photos of JLs in AU with the steering wheel on the left as in the US.

Thanks very much!

The table is awesome. Very easy install. It looked like the slimmest one out there with the strength it has as you obviously replace the plastic jeep cover with the metal plate. In regards to the tilt slide - I'm not sure of the length of the slide but even if you move the fridge to the front the slanting of the rear chair is going to inhibit your space. you would want to make sure the length on the tilt is not blocked by the seat. I found that with the high boot in the jeep having a shelf adds to way better storage and the fridge to be on a slide.

Yeh so im in Australia so Im not sure if the speaker is still on the right of US? I put on the left side as the speaker is on the right so it blocks the ability to have the fridge close to the wall as possible. Also because I wanted the fridge to slide out without being blocked by the table on the tail gate. Ill have to measure and get back to you on the other stuff.

The speaker is still on the right in the US (if looking from the back of the Jeep). I am curious to know how much cargo width is remaining between the fridge slide and the speaker (subwoofer) side trim panel. Thanks
