Had the jeep for about a month now and unfortunately plagued with the dredded CEL (check engine light). It started when I brought it home and started charging it with a level 2 JuiceBox40 charger. Noticed it would fault while charging, and then I'd eventually see the CEL. I called Juicebox and they were able to remote into the unit and said the errors were happening because of a faulty diode. Either in the charger or the vehicle. They agreed to send out a new unit so I could test again.

While waiting a couple of weeks for the replacement charger, I used the included level 1. Had ZERO issues for the 2 weeks time. The replacement Juicebox unit arrived Tuesday. Installed it and charged my vehicle. No faults this time. 2 days of charging later, my CEL came back on.

I had already checked my fuses and gas cap initially, and haven't gotten gas since l. This afternoon I started the jeep, and the CEL is now off.

Do you think it might be the vehicle? Are they sensitive to certain chargers? Anyone have similar issues with JuiceBox?

B22A9 is the error code.

I ordered a chargepoint that will be here Sunday. I want to rule out the charger versus the vehicle itself.

I've charged at a public level 2 and no issues... weird

I’ve been running a JuiceBox 32 for a couple weeks now. No issues with it, the Mopar 110 charger, or the two local ChargePoint Level 2 units I’ve tried so far.

I've been using Juicebox 30 with 4xe for a few weeks now. Although I don't have CEL, but I can never get the charging schedule to work. So now I'm using Juicebox's smartcharging schedule. It's PIA since I also want to charge outside of the TOU lowest rate sometimes. I think there is a compatibility issue between JB and 4xe. Unlike other L2 chargers, when you plug JB in, it doesn't provide the charge right away. It first communicates with the cloud (I'm assuming to check the charging schedule etc.) This can last a few minutes. In the meantime, my 4xe would display there's a problem with the charger on the panel. After that, JB runs a quick test (disconnect and reconnect) and ramp up the charging current slowly to the max. I think this quick test is messing up the 4xe schedule, as you know if you quickly disconnect and reconnect the plug, 4xe will charge immediately regardless of the internal charging schedule (by design). The same thing might be causing the CEL to come on, thinking there's a problem with the L2 charger.

I have had a chargepoint for a few years now. Using it on various plug in hybrid and fully electric vehicles. Never had a problem. It works perfectly on my new 4xe. It is more expensive than others but has been 100% worth it.

Also have the Juicebox charger and getting the CEL. digging into it now and will keep you posted.

Mine charges ok 90% of the time, but every now and then, shortly after plugging it in, it will not charge. I’ll unplug it, and plug it back in, and it will start charging as normal. After it fully charges (morning), I’ll start it and the CEL will be on.

Note that anytime I plug it in and it starts charging normally right away, I never have the CEL in the morning.

Update: I've been charging on the chargepoint for over a month and have had ZERO issues. I definitely think the Juicebox's initial communication with their servers or whatever it does when immediately plugged in is messing with the 4xE and is throwing these errors. I hope it's something they can figure out soon, but I'm very happy with my chargepoint now.

JuiceBox was great throughout the process. They sent me another unit, but that one still caused errors so I wound up returning.
