Hi all, just installed the B&M shifter in my 24 JLRX. It is difficult to get in 2nd gear. From 1st to 2nd is not bad but if I try and go from neutral to 2nd it wont go. Seems like lever going to far to the left, if I move it slightly right it goes in. Any ideas, this is driving me crazy.

Fun ones!
I installed one in my '24 a couple of months ago. Was a bit of a pain getting my hands underneath to connect the linkages. Shifting is great for me. Does the lockout work like it should?

Yes lockout works fine and your right, what a pain getting the lower cable off and back on. The little clip came off and had hell of time getting it back on. Directions could have been a lot better for that. When i move shift to left against positive stop it wont go into 2nd. I have too move it slightly right and then it will go?

Oh yeah the instructions are terrible. There is the XT YouTube video I’m assuming you watched? You’re the first person I’ve heard with issues as the B&M generally gets great reviews. I was fine with the factory shifter (I think it looks better than the B&M), but wanted a little more space between the shifter and dash. I have nothing to offer other than redo your steps 🤷‍♂️

I think I figured it out, installed lockout collar upside down which means the reverse lockout is going down a little more than it should and probably allowing shift to move too far left. Instructions don't tell you which way it goes but the pictures show it if you look closely. Find out tomorow.

Was gonna say it’s probably the lockout that was installed upside down. After having to adjust my stock shifter countless times it sounds like how the shifter functions without the lockout on. If you try to go to 2nd you basically slide into the reverse gear selector but not the gate. Glad you figured it out. Other than that issue, how do you like the shifter from B&M?

That was the problem, turned the lockout collar around (short end down) shifts great! Have to order the transfer case shifter now! Nice mod ;)
