If the removal of the Aux battery has already happened, you need to remove fuse F42. In fact if the person that took the Aux battery out did it correctly F42 should already be missing, check your fuse box. If its gone you arent using the Aux battery. This is the Power control fuse (f42)that switches ess on and off

That is not necessarily true. There are a few different ways to disable aux, not all require removing that fuse.

You need to remove the fuse to disable the power control to the ESS. I guess you could leave it in but, my preference was to completely disable the circuit. Either way!! Thanks for the input..

I had to recently replace my battery on my 2020 jeep wrangler Sahara unlimited. I know I needed to replace my Aux battery. I saw a video that the auxiliary was under the fuse box. So I took it all apart and like Geraldos tomb it wasn't there. Could it be some place else ?

You can change the battery yourself. The is a video on You tube. just remove the plastic wheel protector in the back on the passenger front side. Just the back 4 black fasteners. Under it you will see a small battery sitting in a tray. Remove the 3 bolts that hold it up. take it down, take battery out of the tray. Unhook the positive and negative leads. Install a new one in reverse and your done. Unhook the main battery to make sure you don't blow and fuses or fry any lines. It's acctually pretty each. About a 30 minute job.

Yep, It really isn't hard but here is a little tip. When I "did install" mine a couple times now. I always went and bought the clips that hold the fender liner on. There are 6 on mine and 3 bolts. I learned from the first time I changed it and had to walk to the parts store to get the clips I had broken or screwed up. I like things perfect. Crank the front wheels to full right turn position or left if that is easier for you. Pull the clips and bolts (if you have them) you are there.. I did recently removed the entire mess. I swear my Jeep runs better and I cant figure out why?

The thing I noticed about mine is that on startup it would tell me that my auxiliary switches were not available until the battery charged. So, I bought a new one for that issue. I'm not sure they will work without the auxillary battery. I also agree about the auto stop. When you have big, lifted Jeep with big tires you're not worried about gas milage. The auto stop helps to save a little little bit of gas. However, it does put a lot more stress on your motor and starter, starting over and over. I put a new one in, now my auxiliary switches work again, and I can turn off the auto stop with a button on my dash.

I agree about the auto stop. Do your auxiliary switches work without the auxiliary battery? Mine was telling me at start up that auxiliary switches where not available until the battery charged once you start the motor with your main battery.

I'll look today, im completely new to all of this and slightly pissed. I traded in a Buick envision when I got this and I had to report all modifications. ( race suspension etc ) im sure they asked the same when the jeep came. I unhooked all of it just to see it all missing. Lol even the cables were removed. Its crazy. Good I guess but just odd. I now have to check to see if it has a Tazer ? Something about you have to use this to reprogram it when you remove the battery. No clue.

No worries, I try to get people to just look under their Jeep first to see if there‘s an etorque battery then go from there. I’m curious if you checked under the Jeep yet?

Anyway, the Tazer is not necessary in this scenario.

I have a z automotive tazer lite for my jeep wrangler ljur so that I can change the tire size and tpms sensors down to like 35lbs and turn off tpms sensor warning light when airing down.

also I don't have a electric jeep, 3.6 Pentistar gas. I'm not sold on the idea of electric vehicles. Not practical for long trips. Drive 250 miles, then have to plan where to stop to charge and sit there for hours to charge. gas is a 5 minute stop to refill and there are gas stations and everyother highway exit.

My sister in law has a Mustage that came with a battery charger installed in their garage with 220 volts. She said it takes here hours to fully charge from low battery. She purposely avoids long trips with it.

Yes, under the wheel well liner under the fuse box. 3 bolts to take off a tray that the battery sits in. Then unhook the positive and negative, put a new battery in. Put the liner back in with those chirstmas tree fasteners and your done.

Etorque also has an empty battery box there as if there is a small 12 volt battery there. Thats why I suggest looking under the Jeep first if you see the etorque battery and skid as in the pic I posted it’s conclusive that the small battery box in the inner fender will be empty
