Anyone ever try trimming mud flaps/splash guards?

Anyone ever try trimming them to make them more discrete? I'm not totally enamored with how they look on the JL. I essentially just want to cover the gap between the side steps and fender without the guard sticking out past the fender.

Get some front Rokblokz and trim away. They are basically in line with the fender as is.
