I was out there yesterday for a running race, and the route had us go down Odessa Canyon. Long story short, I drove my Bronco II up it 20 years ago with a group, and I don't remember any obstacles that looked nearly that difficult back then. Has the trail eroded that much, or is my memory that bad?

I was just researching that trail. Is that a recent picture you took? Looks more washed out than the videos I've seen of it.

Does it still seem doable? I'd love to do a run out there at some point. Looks really fun.

Oh yeah, definitely passable. I'm just doubting I have the abilities with a stock JLR (maybe an experienced spotter could get me through?).

That picture was from 20 years ago. That obstacle (called the Squeeze back then?) looks about the same, maybe slightly harder now. I actually got stuck, only time I got stuck that day, because I had open diffs. I welded up the rear after that. It wasn't the hardest looking obstacle either.

If a small group is interested in going I’d put together a trip to run it at some point.

I'm interested, but I have difficulties scheduling anything. I'm an introvert athlete who is also doing flight training, so my spare time is nil :CWL:

Wait, that photo is 20 years old and it’s more washed out now, most likely? Doesn’t look easy.

The whole trail still looks like a total blast, and I'd love to do it. I just want to stay inside of my limits, which are pretty low right now.

If your avatar photo is any indication, it looked plenty difficult back then. ?
Funny part was, I dumped it in a really stupid spot. It wasn't really something anyone outside of a Subaru would call an obstacle, I just had a stupid moment.

My memory could just be really bad. But I don't remember this one being terribly hard, I just didn't have a locker. It was the only time I got stuck in a low budget truck (body lift, factory 2" lifts and 33's squeezed in by using a sledgehammer on the fenders). My Rubicon out of the factory is 10x what that Bronco was (even if I do miss it).

Here's the trail video:

The warnings on Trails Offroad says short wheelbases only. To me that just sounds like a challenge for Paul "I'm up for anything" NoLastName.

Worth noting that flying can be like that. Mentally on short final with the field as good as made, then events get ahead of you. Don’t ask me how I know. ?

Student pilot at KRIR.

Need one more sign off (3 towered landings), then check ride!

Edit: oh, I already mentioned that earlier, guess I forgot :CWL:

Q: how do you know when someone is a pilot?

A: dont worry, they'll tell you.
