It was so easy and cheap to upgrade a JK. If you had the early Infinity system, replace the caps on the tweeter, 2 ohm speakers in the soundbar and replace the sub with the Pioneer bolt in. The factory HU's were so bad that almost any aftermarket HU would be an upgrade and it sounded great. Might just wait for the 509 and just work on the speakers for now. Right now as mentioned before, I have the Infinity 3032's in the dash and Alpine S-S65C components in the sound bar. There are a set of JL C2-350's coming today and a set of Terra Acoustics arriving (hopefully) soon. Going to try the JL's and the Terra Acoustics in the dash and also try the JL's in the soundbar with the OEM midrange. I was getting a little bit of distortion in one of the soundbar Alpine tweeters last night.

I have the Alpine powered sub kit with the upper dash tweeters or what ever. I also put the fancy Alpine speaker kit in the sound bar. I then installed the best 6.5ā€ Alpine speakers in the lower dash. My setup sounds incredible and now I notice Alpine now markets a similar kit.

I was going to go with the 409 at the same time. But I was hesitant, because it’s doesn’t work with he factory mic setup with the Bluetooth and the factory mic for me works very well driving around town naked. I wasn’t sure the aftermarket with a single mic placement would work as well and would annoy me more then the better sound. My sound system sounds amazing to me and I’m not sure the 409 would sound any better to my ears. The off-road maps while being nice, I think rather have a dedicated Garmin Overlander unit and my iPhone for over the road stuff. I was slightly interested in I believe I could also run my sPOD into as a second controller.

@CalPolyDM just bumping this to see how you’re still liking the unit? Found a great deal on one but wanted to see how it’s held up (rear cam issues? bugs?).

sorry, haven’t logged on in a while. I do enjoy my system, however, the newer version has wireless CarPlay which is way better. This one has build in Nav, but I never use it since I use CarPlay and Apple Maps…
