Members on the RAM Ecodiesel forums are using this to perform forced regens. Anyone have any details on its applicability to our Jeeps?

I have connected this to my Jeep, but have not yet found the path to get to forced regens. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hello @Jeff . Wondering if you have used OBD Jscan. If so, can you give a preliminary comparison?

Email reply from AlfaOBD. Still a little hazy since he didn't specifically reference JLs.

The forced regen on the ecodiesel is supported.

Subject: Forced regen

Does your product allow me to initiate a forced regen on a 2021 Jeep Wranger Ecodiesel?

UPDATE:

As I've researched this I've discovered that there are four key ingredients:
  • The Alfaobd software itself
  • A SGW bypass. According to Zautomotive, my Taser acts in that capacity already. If so, that was a pleasant surprise.
  • An OBD scan tool. I went with Vgate vLinker MC+. It was recommended by Alexey (Alfaobd) as the best combination of quality, functionality, and price. Not all OBD scanners will work with Alfaobd.
  • An Android compatible device or a PC running Windows. I went with the latter.
My Jeep just actively regened this morning so it will potentially be a little while before I jump in and try this for a forced regen. I'll report back.

As I've mentioned over the years, I am, at best, an aspirational mechanic. If I can get this to work, virtually anyone can.

I almost forgot. Scott at Zautomotive said to unmarry the Taser before the Alfaobd process and marry it back after.

After I read the Alfaobd directions, I changed course. The directions looked like more of a science project than I wanted to undertake. Kudos to Alfaobd; they refunded my money without hesitation.

Subsequently, I bought this (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XK1P8ZT?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details), but haven't plugged it in yet. The question that I have is whether my Tazer will act as an SGW bypass as opposed to buying a Foxwell bypass cable. [Zautomotive suggested that it would work].

I'll post after I try the new OBD scanner.

Nope. Done with that bullshit.
Yes, your Tazer will act as an SGW bypass.

It allows me to make changes using JScan and an OBDII dongle.

With the Tazer disconnected and the factory SGW reconnected, JScan fails to make changes.

Scott, do you unmarry your tazer prior to using your scanner, and then remarry it after? That's what Zautomotive suggested, but I'm not sure why.

Link to directions? I'd like to be able to initiate a Regen.

If I’m just viewing data, no I don’t unmarry

if I am going to make changes using JScan, then yes I unmarry first.
