* Posted this in the flat tow section but no takers so I’m posting it here *

Hi all, new to the forum. Outfitting my 3rd used but new to me JLUR for flat towing. My setup so far includes a Rock Hard 4x4 bumper (highly recommend), Cooltech LLC wiring harness with battery drain fix for LED taillights, and a soon to be installed Demco Air Force One.

Wondering if anyone has mounted the Demco Air Force One unit under the driver’s seat. Directions say to drill holes in the fuse box lid and zip-tie (not my style and I’d like a cleaner installation). Has anyone mounted the control box under the drivers seat? If so, what did you use as a mounting solution?

I was thinking of using bolts and fender washers to bolt it to the carpet, it won’t move and will be protected from kicking, moisture, etc. I think the carpet will suffice, but I’d like to hear opinions or options before I giver a go.

I flat tow my JLR with a RockHard4x4 aluminum Patriot bumper, Blue Ox Ascent tow bar, and Demco Stay n Play Duo braking system. Works flawlessly.

Not familiar with the Air Force One but do look into the Stay n Play.

I appreciate your reply, not familiar with the stay-n-play but I have air brakes on my coach and already bought the AF1. Going to be helping a buddy install the stay-n-play soon though so I’ll look into it and get familiar with it…

RVI pretty painless, no mounting whatsoever, except brake away switch on bumper.

The AF-1 is fantastic. I had both the Jeep and my pickup set up to tow with that system and both towed flawlessly.

Both were installed by the RV dealership at time of purchase, so I’m no help on the installation except to say that nothing was mounted under the driver’s seat.

We sold our Class A coach during crazy-covid-money days, but we’re looking at the Isata-6 as the replacement ride in retirement. Sadly, no air brakes, so we”ll need a new toad-brake system for the jeep.

I don’t use AF-1 , I use M&G but unless you don’t plan on getting your Jeep wet I would stick to the instructions and leave if off the floor.
