To help with questions around the gauge of cables and intended use. You'll want to find the max the device(s) will pull. Usually this can be found on the device itself, or the manual, or website. Fridges and air compressors may have a spike in the power that they pull and then settle down to a lower amperage at other times. The spikes are what you want to account for (the theoretical max).
Once you know that, go to a wire gauge calculator. Enter the voltage (probably 12v), the max amperage for the wire (consider all the devices that are powered by that wire), and the length of the wire. A 2%-3% drop is usually acceptable in automotive devices. The calculator will tell you what wire gauge to use.
Also make sure to add a fuse to cover the wire. That is make sure the fuse burns out well before the wire. If any of this is confusing, feel free to ask questions and we'll get you sorted out!
