Didn’t you notice the other members comments about rubbing. It looks like a decent residential speed bump would rack it against the fenders. If this is your first Jeep it’s easy to get caught up in a look/stance, but the reality is that tire is too big for the setup.

There are people that smoke while pumping gas but I wouldn’t recommend it. One double-edged part of the internet is that people are free to post whatever they please, whether fact or fiction. But for now you have a problem so you know firsthand what does and doesn’t fit , that’s how we learn!

Looking forward to your rubbing pics as that will help identify the problem.

So what would you recommend I do in the mean time? I don't go over any speed bumps on my way home from work.

Put your stock setup back on until you can change something about your setup that makes it fit.

Where is it rubbing? Are you going to take it off-road? If it’s rubbing on suspension I already posted how to fix it until you want to lift it. The tires are too big for your stock sport.

Op has sport, to those sport owners watching the forums 35 x12.5 is too much tire at stock height.
Jury is still debating whether a 35 is even ok for the 30 Dana axle equipped on the sport. Speedo is going to be almost 10% off as well.
He says it rubs at full turn. I posted that to eleviate that single issue. He will need to address the rest as it comes along.

Considering the new JL axles, whether it be the Rubi or sport are already built quite a bit stronger then their predecessors, 35’s shouldn’t be an issue, so really what he needs is a little lift and adjust his steering stops. No reason to install spacers.

No offense to the poster but it looks like he had trouble just installing wheels. Keep him away from spacers.

I’m no expert, but from what I’ve learned from others posting here, this is what I’d do:
  1. Adjust steering stops as recommended - $0
  2. Remove the euro style plastic between bumper and front of fender - $0
  3. Spacer lift - the RoughCountry 2.5” option (“leveling kit”) (more options should be available soon, but the RC option is out right now) - $180
Your call on whether steps 1 and 2 get you to a manageable place while you wait for your spacer lift to come in. If it’s not manageable, go back to your stock setup for now.

Last note - you’ll see people talk about “spacers” a lot - it can be confusing because there are wheel spacers (move your wheels further out to help with rubbing when turning the wheel... the free solution to this is option 1 above) and then there are spacer lifts.

Wheel spacers: move wheels out, widening the stance.

Spacer lift: moves vehicle up, increasing vertical clearance.

Congrats on your new purchases. You’ll get there - be patient and don’t jump in too fast.

It was only rubbing on the euro insert bumper part but I had to take whole thing off to take the inserts out.

Like others have said... That is way too much tire for a Sport. Suggest taking off the 35s until you can install a lift. Your fenders will thank you.

That’s the funny thing. If he would have left his stock wheels it would have fit better till he got a lift. They wouldn’t be sticking out past the fenders.

Them things are stuffed. Below is mine on stock wheels with 2.5 lift. I would hate to be behind you as you destroy everyone's windshields since your tires stick out 2" on each side..

I did my research.

Your life, your Jeep.

However, if you are willing to take the advice lets take a step back here an analyze the situation.

-Multiple people, some with years of experience, said this is too much tire
-Error is a human trait and we all make mistakes
-It's how we recover from those mistakes that dictate the future to a great extent

Now that's covered and it's not the end of the world lets look at the particular situation from what you have posted so far.

1. You are leasing the vehicle.
plus I'm on a tight 10k year mile lease
2. You had a slight hiccup (no big at all not shaming you) with lug nuts

3. You have an improper sized tire for the suspension/body setup

Being that you are on a lease, don't you think it would make sense to not put the biggest tire and aggressive offset combination of anyone on the forum, with the given height.

Is lifting even an option at this point? If the lease is strict and money is tight, why roll the dice on the financial future of the vehicle to look cool.

You know what to do at this point and will have to live with the decision you make, hopefully you course correct and all is well.

All you need to do is adjust your steering stops a couple turns out. Problem solved. No spacers needed.

Everyone pay attention to how mis aligned the spring perches are here.
