Here's a few unsolicited words of advice to consider prior to your install, while everything's still reachable...

First, can the tweeters on your new speakers be "aimed" to point upwards? If they can't be aimed upwards, you may want to consider running tweeters in your dash, too. The kick panel speakers are down-firing, and treble is directional. Of course, if you're leaving the stock ones up in the dash, powered by the factory radio, they should be OK to fill a bit of the sound space.

Also, prior to installing the pods, you might consider adding some foam rings around the woofers, which will create a seal with your dash's speaker grill. This will help to minimize how much sound escapes behind your dash. The speaker grills/holes built into the dash are much smaller than those 6's, so you'll want to direct as much sound outward as possible.

Finally, I noticed you dyno-matted the outside of the box. I've actually never seen that (usually I see it done inside the box), though I don't see why it would be an issue. The recommendation would be to add a ton of Polyfill inside each box prior to mounting them. It supposedly further dampens the signal and provides a richer sound.

Hope you don't mind the interjection, and good luck with the install!

I may look into getting some foam rings actually sounds like a good idea. Any idea where I could pick those up? Also I am amplifying them with a 5 channel kenwood amp. I already replaced the other 6 speakers with the upgraded alpine speakers. Also installing the JL 10 inch Stealthbox. I am replacing the head unit as well just waiting on a dash kit to come out. For now I am sticking with the stock unit with a processor installed. I wrapped the pods on a recommendation from a local car audio shop told me they do this to all of the Jeeps they work on and they said it takes the hollowness out of the pods and makes the speakers sound so much better. Lastly do you think the poly fill will help that much? I was considering it but some people I talked to said they cannot tell the difference from before they added the poly fill. I might just do it because its cheap so why not just do it anyways.

Found these, you think these will do the job. Also by the way I do not mind the advice at all. I’ll take all the advice I can get.

There's a link to the foam rings in my last post. Your local shop will have them, too. As for the polyfill, I've always used it, though I don't think the difference is significant when also using sound deadening material, too. It is cheap, and likely worth a shot since the speaker's haven't been mounted yet. Online sources seem to swear by it.

Installed the speaker pods and new speakers today. Wrapped them in dynamat, stuffed with poly fill and then added the fast rings and they sound sooooo good!

Would like see a pic of these after install.
I installed everything today and the speakers sound great. Install time was about 3 hours but now that I know how all the dash comes apart and the screws that need loosened i could probably do it in half that amount of time. The speakers sound great! Like night and day. I dont really have a picture but they fit right in and are plug and play.

Any idea how much room there is between the speaker and the dash cover?

I would say roughly about an inch, I put some stinger fast foam rings around them and trimmed them down to an inch so they were touching the dash.

Ok thanks. I have a set of 5.25” separates. The Metra pods are made for bigger speakers. I was thinking of modifying them with a recessed ring that was angled up and towards the middle. Adding sound deadening and polyfill are both good ideas. Another suggestion I saw was drilling some holes in the back of the speaker pod.
