4xe with 35" tires??

Anyone have any experience with changing tires out to 35s on the 4xe? I'm looking at used 2024 models upgrading from my 2018 JLU Sahara. Wondering how the 35s perform on the 4xe and how it affects the electric range?

Not to sidetrack, but unless you're not aware, Jeep has discontinued ALL 4xe models, and still has a pile of outstanding warranty claims / safety recalls that they can't seem to sort out.

I'd stay away from any 4xe IMO.

I didn't notice a difference in performance and electric range on my 4xe Rubicon when putting on the 35" KO2s. Might be different depending on which 35s you are putting on as the weight can vary quite a bit. Just make sure you have a tool like Jscan to adjust your tire size so your speedometer is correct.

Ya, unfortunately I've been following all the threads about 68 and 78C recalls, fires, etc. But also read a ton of people rave about theirs for torque, mpg, quiet engine, etc. Given the issues, tons of really good deals on them so trying to weigh the risk/reward given they are 8-10k less than their gas equivalent.

Since I'm looking used 2024s, limited to what comes up and all the features I'm looking for; color, sky one-touch roof, options, etc.

I don't think they put the 35" tire package on the 4xe so the only ones I see are those that did aftermarket wheels. Just wondering if the gear ratio, shocks, etc are a factor for the 4xe vs the 35 recon package from the factory which should be set up correctly as far as suspension, gearing, to handle those bigger tires

Put 35s on our '21 Rubicon. I didn't really notice much change in local driving but there might have been a small hit on long distance highway trips.
Just keep in mind-a 4xe still won't get amazing mileage, just better than a 3.6. Its real strength is the extra power, and being able to use very little gas on short runs or stop and go city driving.

I think you'll find a lot of 35s on 4xes. I ran 35X11.5 Toyos on a 4xe rubicon and didn't notice a difference in acceleration, but weight was similar to stock. Electric range was never great, maybe 10-15 miles if i drove normal, 20 if I drove like a granny and stayed off the highway. Problem is, when the inevitable loss of power gremlin struck while driving down the interstate, and Jeep couldn't figure out why thousands of 4xes were randomly losing power, they tried to blame it on my "modified" tires. Ultimately went lemon law and got out of the 4xe.

Gotcha, it's not my daily driver and only put about 5k miles/yr. Just my fun weekend car and we use it as a tow vehicle behind our motorhome. I love the torque specs on it and drove one as a rental and liked the quiet of the electric mode.

But I know there are many issues so trying to decide if the savings on purchase vs gas is really worth it.

My '22 was trouble free until the latest 68C recall and has had all sorts of software issues since. Dealership can't do anything about it so am forced to just wait for a fix to be released, if ever. Jeep has not acknowledged any of the issues yet or communicated to dealers there may be some. I would say if this is not your primary vehicle and are OK with it sitting at the dealer for days/weeks for repairs when needed, then might be worth the risk if you get one for the right price. However, I would not recommend this platform at all to someone who needs to rely on the vehicle for day to day activities since it's a matter of when (not if) that it will be stuck at a dealership at some point with little support. It also stinks in cold weather. I still have mine because I own it (unfortunately) and have another vehicle. However, after owning it for 3.5 years, I would definitely not buy another one of these, no matter the price.

35s are great on a 4xe Rubicon with the 4.10 gears, higher spare mount and the high fenders that come stock. Other 4xe like Sahara might need more work. I’d suggest a skinny 35 or wheels with more backspace.

I love my Rubicon 4xe but not sure I would recommend one due to the issues some people have.

I love my Rubicon 4xe but not sure I would recommend one due to the issues some people have.

Did yours come stock? I didn't think the 4xe ever offered the 35 tire package?

They never offered 35" tires from the factory for the 4xe. Everyone who has them put them on after the fact.

If you travel a lot be sure to schedule time for it to be at the dealership each year for recalls. Put the $8K you save now in the bank to pay for out of warranty issues in the future.

Zero issues? Everyone you know that has one wasn’t allowed to charge it or park it in their garage during Dec and January.
