Picked up my Sport on Sunday out of state off the lot. Got to break it in on the drive home. My first Wrangler and I'm in love. I actually can't wait to drive to work in the mornings. I'm just taking it in little by little and discovering new things each day. Tomorrow the top comes down as it will be in the mid 70s and finally no rain. Might break out a cigar at lunch.

Only got to test drive an auto, but still went with manual based on some reviews of the 6 speed. I like the manual much better and so does the wife. So much fun to drive. My wife is ready each day for me to come home so she can drive it. And still I'm checking out this forum a lot. It's hard to be real productive at work.

Had to join this group. Waiting on my first jeep ever. 70 year old Vietnam vet and acting like a kid waiting for Christmas. just wish I could get some questions answered so I can start ordering stuff...Want to buy 33" tires and wheels that just stick out a bit beyond the fenders and do not require any lift. Can't get a solid answer regarding what offset I might need. Then grab handles, floor mats, and a bunch of other stuff.....
The only thing is, Christmas is a set date--you know how long until then and can count the days... hours... minutes... My jeep has been sitting at a rail yard right around the corner from my home for 8 days now with no updates or insight as to whats going on.

My first jeep as well so I can't speak about most of the accessories, but I do know that the grab handles are probably going to be different. A lot of grab handles for JK and previous went around the roll bar, and our new JL roll bar is integrated into the frame itself so that won't work. The Mopar option seems to bolt into place.

Hopefully someone else can help you out with information on tires and wheels. Which trim did you order? That might help.

Thank you for your service.

Is there a difference between Want and Need when it comes to a Jeep :)

My wife loves the Jeep, but thinks because it is a Rubi, it doesn't need anything else! But, when people ask if we're taking it to the mountains when it looks SO good, she says "That's what we bought it for!" So there is that.

On my NEED list:
  • Build/Buy a hoist system
  • Cargo net for the back so the dogs can't jump out
  • All Weather mats for the front

On my WANT list:
  • Winch
  • Light bar
  • Anything else that I find in the quadratec catalog

I took the grab handles, velcro attached, off my JK and put them in my new JL just fine. No problems going over the new roll bar setup.

Welcome to our world! If you're like me, you won't be like this all the time, but you'll have "Jeep binges" on a regular basis. Between binges, you refill your wallet.

awinch should be onyour need list. in the worst case it is your best tool to get you of abad situation and protect your purchase.

I just got my JLU last week and I’m already planning my first trip to the beach. There is a strip of beach 60 miles long, No hotels or homes! Just sand and water! Thank you Texas!

Seriously? You drive by the dealership? Are you some kind of crazy Jeep stalker?

Asking for a friend... she’s a stalker too

Whew... I'm not alone. This is "our" first Jeep. My wife turns 50 and she said I want to go to Europe or buy a Jeep. I said let's go to the dealership... the trip would have been cheaper. "We" bought a Sahara JL, black on black right off the lot w/ 34 miles on it and have been in love ever since. I'm allowed to drive it whenever she isn't, woohoo!!

We are hooked!! I can't wait to wrench on it but she doesn't want me to go too crazy. Last night I looked in the garage and just smiled and I told her sometimes I'll open the door just to look at it. She said I was vain!! I said it is a work of art! Please tell me someone else is doing this behavior.

Since ordering a new JL, it seems all I do in my spare time is watch Wrangler JL YouTube videos (some of them COUNTLESS times), read up on Wrangler JL statistics and specifications, spend obscene amounts of time on this forum, read the JL owner's manual and owner's guide cover to cover, and when driving take "shortcuts" that bring me to all the local Jeep dealerships to look at the latest JLs. What have I gotten myself into? Does this condition get worse when I actually get my Jeep? I was reading a thread about what the first thing people are going to do when they take delivery of their JL, and someone said "cry"...I can completely relate to this...am I beyond help?
When a toddler and I would buy my child a toy, even if willing to keep it boxed until we got home, she wanted it in the back seat with her....to look at, imagine its possibilities, "take in."

You're doing the same thing...and it's perfectly normal. :)

Wow, I could have wrote that myself. Thanks for admitting your condition. I am glad I am not the only one, and am sure many more will now be able to come forward because of you. I actually drive a local dealer on Sundays when they are closed just hoping to see a new JL. I have a two door Rubi in D status for the last 30 days that my dealer said could be in, in 4-6 weeks. I can only hope till then, you know how it is!

Yeah, my spouse will catch me watching YouTube and will say "Jeeps again??" When mine finally arrives I'm probably going to spend a lot of time in the garage
My wife refers to the YouTube videos as "Jeep Porn." Same as my Quadratec catalog.
