I think it has something to do with the larger wheels and gears. the computer don't exactly know which gear to use.

One problem I have is transitioning from break to gas. you have to give it a second to go from energy recovery to output and if I do it too fast I get a sudden jerk.

or it could just be a new transmission thing, as you know the zf8 have this self learning adaptive shifting pattern, It felt off probably due to the factory testing. I reset it once and it has been fine since.

I have a 2023 3.6 Etorque XR. From time to time it will "bang" upon pressing the accelerator if I do a rolling stop. My previous Audi (also with ZF8) hated rolling stops too.

I've also noticed hard downshifts to 1st gear a few times, though I haven't noticed a commonality to what leads to it.

its a brand new JLUR XR with less than 400 miles on it.
Everything new takes a while to break in, so I don't think this is unusual. My 3.6 eTorque shifting became notably more refined once I racked up some miles. Relatedly, the eTorque ESS when new was brutally rough on start up, but is now so buttery smooth you can barely tell the engine was off. I'd say give it a few miles!

I did it with jscan not sure if tazer can do it too. I think more professional scan tool can also do it. If you are happy with how it shift and you don't experience jerking there is no need to touch it.

Mine shifts like crap for a vehicle with 1600 miles. I thought it would smooth out with some miles put on it but it hasn't. I guess it's time for a dealer visit.

Mine did this too.. 2020. They ended up taking it as a trade for just about what I paid for it and I got a new one…. They never did figure it out. It would chirp the tires when it did it real bad.

They didn't try to replace the tranny or the tcm?

Nope and I went to three dealerships. Even left it there overnight because it felt more pronounced when cold, so I had assumed valve body or something. Even had one tell me that “sometimes it has to get worse before it gets better.” You know, just wait for the transmission to fall off.

They all kept saying nonsense like “it’s a Jeep” and “not reproducible.” I used to shift into N in an automatic when coming to a stop! It would cause load to shift… that rough.

That sucks. Sounds like the same service I got from Ford. Wonder who got your old jeep and the problems.
