The shocks came with the Mopar lift. We had it added. We have a friend in the leasing business that was able to get us a great deal on the lift.
Other than that and my Apex AutoLynx, our rigs are very similar.
Ok thanks. How does it ride? I’d prefer a stiffer ride on ours, mine stock is too bouncy on road. I’m used to trucks. My 1500 Silverado has Bilstein 1500’s and E load rated BFG KO2’s and it’s perfect. I’d like to duplicate that on the Jeep. My only off-roading will be OBX beach/sand.

I think the ride is excellent.
I still wish I had the Clayton lift but this was easy and ready on pickup day.
I love the tight ride.

Nice, so with your set up the stock Willys Xtreme 35 suspension is gone and you’re on the Mopar 2” lift kit with Bilsteins? Rides nice and firm on road with decent absorption off road?

I may be in trouble here. Told the wife we’re buying the one with the bigger tires cause I won’t have to fuck with the suspension 😳🤷🏻‍♂️🤣

LOL!

The dealership put the lift on at their shop. I'm assuming the stock XR parts were all taken off and replaced with the lift, especially since the lift does add a little more height. There are a couple of thread posts here about the Mopar lift VS the XR lift and there is at least an additional 1/2" gained with the Mopar lift. Plus the shocks and the other stuff.

I love the ride on and off road. The ride is especially nice off road with the sway bars disconnected!

Airing down will only make it better, although washboard type trails are still pretty wicked.

Apologies as I'm taking the post off course.

Unfortunately, I don't have any photos next to a stock XR but I have parked next to one and our rig was slightly more lifted.

This is another reason I went with the XR package. The front Dana.

I don't see going to 37's on our rig. We have to drive a long way just to get into halfway decent adventure territory and this thing is really dialed in nice right from the dealership.

If I add anything from here out, it will be a winch and potentially a front locker.

Our off road shop said unless we wanted to make some other changes, they typically don't encourage 37's. I may change the springs when and if the winch creates any sag.

Thanks for the follow up. Your rig looks to sit about 1.5” higher than my stock XR. I wonder if those Bilstein shocks would work on mine without changing the springs? I’m not looking for any additional height or going to larger tires. I’d just like to take some of the bounce out of the ride and firm it up a little. I’m in a similar situation as we drive about 490 miles to the NC OBX for off-roading on the beach. The Jeep needs to retain good highway manners.

OP, sorry for the thread de-rail. You really can’t go wrong with the Willys XR package. Better axles, 4.56 gears, steel knuckles, steel steering gear box, performance brakes, bead lock capable wheels on 35’s with a factory warranty is a no brainer. Unless you absolutely need a front locker the Willy’s XR is a great value especially with the current discounts.

I like the shocks, and I know there are even better Bilstein shocks than these which I think are the 5160's. I'm assuming you could just change them out.
I have a soft spot for your rig. It looks like a twin to ours.

I think the O/P is leaning toward the XR route.

Minus the 4:1 transfer case and the front locker, you have a wonderful package with the XR.
I added Apex AutoLynx sway bar discos for a very affordable and extremely easy was to disconnect the sways up front.

At this point, I don't know if I'll add a front locker, and I don't know if the transfer case will benefit us for what we do with our rig.

The Willys XR VS the standard Rubi actually had some advantages. I believe the knuckles are better, and the 4.56 gears are standard. I don't think you can ever go wrong with the Rubes, but between the regular Willys VS the base. XR was our choice with zero regrets.

Do you have the 8.0in or 10.5in Apex AutoLynx sway bar disconnect? Tia

I have the 8".
I spoke to Apex just to confirm they were the correct fit.

Our XR does have the Mopar 2" lift and they said the 8" version would work well. I think there would be some cutting necessary if I had the 10".
