I bought a '24 JLU with the 2.0L back in June of '23. In December I noticed a small oil spot on my garage floor. The dealer did a dye test and told me it was actually coming from the head gasket. Seems odd, as this is a new car. They ordered a new gasket. After 2 days of tearing apart my engine, they now say the head gasket was not the problem. There seems to be an area of the cylinder head that was not machined properly and is causing a small oil leak. The entire cylinder head needs to be replaced and is on order.
I haven't heard of anyone needing a cylinder head on such a new car. This makes me very wary of the rest of the motor since it's less than a year old and is undergoing a major engine repair. I was going to write Jeep and see if they would offer me an extended powertrain warranty. Has anyone done this with success? This is my first jeep and while I loved it initially, the ownership experience is slowly going downhill.
