Congrats!!!

Will say this living in FL myself & temps were 49 deg at work this morning....you will regret not getting the cold weather package. EVEN in Naples ( I used to live there back in 2010), it has gotten down that low during the winter.
51 this am here in Port Charlotte. Its the sticky sweat that bothers me in the summer, feel like I am glued to the seat... I skipped the CW package, have remote start on my F 450, never used it, heated seats, maybe a couple of times a year back in the Hill Country of Tx on my ranch and heated steering wheel, got my hand to hot...

The 392 steering, at least in mine, was sloppy. I know it is not a Corvette, but it was down right scary at times. Note I had 35's with no stabilizer since day one, so that might have been a factor. Traded it off on a TRX at 6xx miles. That said, I have a Reign 392 on order! Everyone needs at least 2 jeeps in the garage...especially if one is purple!
Going to guess...The jeep engine bay is tight and was never really made for a V8, and the center of balance is a lot different. Thinking the 392 put more weight forward than the V6 making it nose heavy.

I ran into this on a car I was ordering. I wanted the V 12 thinking it would be FASTer than the V8. But that was not the case the V8 a LOT faster due to the weight forward. But they told me there a 'secret' to getting what I wanted. Order the V 12 sports, with Engine Delete. NOW you get all the goodies that come with the 12 (suspension. upgrades), handling like a rocketship on rails. It was fun and I think in 2 years I racked up about 8 k mi, when it came to Dallas traffic, NOTHING beats a SWB Jeep.

If you told me, any production car made in the world is yours free and clear with one condition. You got to drive it the rest of your life...GREAT, meet at the Jeep Dealer!

Beautiful 2 doors! I want another one too!

Does 4 half doors equal 2 full doors? :CWL:

Just curious- Are those factory supplied half doors or did you buy them used?

Those are the factory supplied half doors that came packed inside my Rubi when I ordered the Jeep last December.

LOL To many years of driving 2 doors albeit I tried in 2015 I picked up a 4 door Rubicon Hard Rock Edition, a great rig, but not me. Even my Jeep Cherokee was a 2 door. Prob a lot stems from never having kids and being single most of my life and a life of Corvettes and Jeeps, going back to 64.

How so just out of curiosity, just more nimble or what? I feel like the 392 with the weight would be pretty balanced - I'm debating a 2 door vs 4 door now.
No brainer if it is just you and a passenger. Way more nimble. However if you wanted to do some serious overlanding then the 4dr is the way to go. I love my 2dr… so much fun. Now if one could get a 392 in the 2dr… OMG!

I will hazard a guess, but the 392 in the 2 dr would not be a good combo to to too much weight forward.

When they started selling the Hemi engine in the aftermarket, every guy that got lots of overtime in the shoe store in the mall found some shop to stuff a 426 hemi up the Nose of his TJ Rubicon. For several years I led runs in Moab and I only played on the 7+ trails. I had guys come in from as far as Mass and Wash State and we would spend a week running the hard stuff.

Big engine = BIG radiators to keep it cool and big Tans coolers, time you add up all the wight it was nose down. They needed a snorkel just breathe...

In all the years I did that, never had a hemi make the full week and broke down, they were broke, overheated and just not good wheelers.

Wheeling: If you want to play were the big boys do on trials like Pritchett Canyon in Moab and Rubicon trails. Well here is a TIP: your rig needs to be balanced. It's ALL about your connection with Terra Firma. You can rent scales for the 4 corners, you want 25 lbs +/- all the way around. Especially if you are a rock crawler because rack crawling is a dance and you want equal weight at each corner of your rig.

Oh I realize putting a 392 or bigger in an otherwise stock JLR would be problematic... just dreaming.

My frame of reference is rock crawling where things like balance come into play. That said if my wife would allow it I would have a Jeep SWB with a different engine most likely a 383 stroker or another a LS7, I am a Chevy man when it comes to V8s. But then that would be a street toy at that level...trust me I have paid my dues on the 1320, in fact was IHRA C Sports record holder back in the 60s for a short time.

My 55 Willy had a Chevy 350/350, 5:36 gears.

My '03 Rubicon was supercharged. The Jeep straight 6 prob the best rock crawler engine ever made. The bottom end was where the torque lived, 70% of available torque was there by 1500 rpm. I added the SC due to it weak highway performance. I am a staunch believer that you drive to the wheeling spot, I do not trailer. My take on trailering is you do it because you rig breaks and that is how you get back home. I have seen this validated many many times.... Build for the purpose you intend use. IMO the Jeep V 6 is all wrong if your game is rocks. Rocks are about low-end torque and the V 6 just does not have it.

Interesting, wasn‘t aware you can get 4.88‘s with an auto. I ordered them with a 6 speed.

125 mi Update:

Avg MPG 15.0 - 15.3. I live close to a major road, tht is loaded with stoplights and is 3 lane wide. Lots of stop-and-start, and slow driving. Lights take forever here in FL.

I have the OEM 4:88 gears. Always been a fan of 4:88 and had them in several cars, you bang for your buck and the Jeep V6 gives it to you in Spades. The engine was designed for 4:88 gears. All the torque is in the high rpm band so the 4:88 shines since it gives you back your torque down low. It also lets my rig scoot and shoot with ease, and can really maneuver thru traffic.

If you are thinking 4:88s do it!

Brakes: WOW of all the Jeeps and years I have with them I have never had a Jeep stop this good. I am having to get used to as it stops so fast you stop before you get to the light by more than a few car lengths. Jeep did it right on the Brakes.

Ride as the shocks break in the ride has got more comfortable, even at 39 psi in the tires. Usually, I am running in the low 30s but these tires seem to like 39 psi.

Apparently they are not allowing 4:88 with the Auto, I do have the V6 gasser, maybe that is why??
