Hi Everyone - Very new to Jeeps so please forgive me. I just ordered a 2022 Sahara with Auto transmission and I want the V6 WITHOUT the eTorque. It appears possible to order in this configuration on the public website configurator - but when I reviewed my order it has the eTorque engine. Recently placed the order so hoping I can change it if it's available. Second question, when I add the All-Terrain Tires - it does appear I no longer have the option for the non-eTorque engine. Can anyone help clarify for me? Thank you

On the Jeep website choosing the All Terrain Tires makes you select either the Cold Weather Group or the Anti-Spin Rear Diff. You can select the All Terrain Tires and the Cold Weather Group and keep the non-eTorque motor. If you select the Anti-Spin Rear Diff you have to get the eTorque motor. Doesn't make sense to me but that's how the Jeep site works.

Thanks! So in your view, I can get All Terrain tires w/o Anti-Spin Rear Diff and keep the non-eTorque?

I plan to purchase and drive this jeep for many years. My fear is this new tech and possible cost of replacement of these batteries. Anyone have any thoughts to share ?

No problem. Yes that's what I see when I build a Sahara with the 3.6 and auto. But I'd check with the dealer and see what they have on your order now.

Keep in mind that the dealer has the most up to date information on what is available. There have been errors on the on line builder in the past.

I was skeptical of the eTorque as well, but after doing some research, it seems to be the lesser of two evils.

From what I can tell, the eTorque battery is covered for 8 years 80k miles under warranty. If it will last that long, I will have already traded the Jeep in on a new one, or aftermarket battery options might be available.

It doesn't really matter either way though, from what I see, if you want the automatic transmission your only option is eTorque.

So here is the window sticker of a 2022 Sahara with the 3.6 non-eTorque and automatic with the All Terrain Tires, Cold Weather Group and with the Anti-Spin Rear Diff. This is great in my opinion. Shouldn't be forced to have eTorque if you don't want it. Again I'd still check with the dealer...

A few weeks ago Jeep.ca website had their custom builder up before the US site.
I built a 2-door JLR with V6 (non e-torque) with auto, the build package code was 24R. Jeep Canada has since removed this option but I hope to see this option on the US site this spring/summer once Gobi becomes available.

I may be the minority, but I really like the eTorque motor. It is seamless and quiet, long warranty, and seems to have far less electrical issues.

Just here to add another vote for the eTorque setup. It’s much better than the 12v aux battery setup and is covered by a federally mandated 8yr/80,000 mile warranty.

Interesting. You can configure a Sahara with automatic transmission, 3.6, and no eTorque....and the Sahara has the diesel option, but neither are available on the Willys. On the Willys you're forced into the eTorque with the auto transmission.

Follow-up to my original thread and all the great comments. So today my dealer told me that he talked to the Jeep OEM rep and was told it is no longer possible to order the non-eTorque V6 with the 8 Speed auto. The fact that someone just sent a Window sticker with this combination - I find this very frustrating. Is there anyone on this forum that is an OEM Rep and can 100% confirm the situation?
