So let’s assume I have a local dealer that will do 5 or 6% off invoice. Does the tread lightly discount come off in addition? Is this essentially a rebate from FCA? Meaning, should I drive my best deal possible, them pull out the tread light discount?
That depends on what you’re dealer does. Chriswell in Maryland gave you 1% below invoice with Tread Lightly +7% on top of that to get you to 8% total.

Question for everyone:

If I negotiated MORE off the price than just the tread lightly 1%, why does it matter of tread lightly is having issues? If dealer was willing to go BEYOND what the tread lightly gets us, why would there be an issue if TL isn’t working right now?

There's a difference between a dealer giving you a discount and FCA. An FCA discount doesn't really hurt the dealer's bottom line.

So (and correct me if I’m wrong) if I negotiated 5% below invoice and I lost my tread lightly, the dealer would still be able to give me 4% below invoice?

Tread Lightly should be resolved early September (what I read on this forum). It is worth 1% off invoice. If you cannot use Tread Lightly (or wait for it to get resolved), then you would have at a minimum a 4% discount off of invoice.

Should be resolved tomorrow. Just got word from my dealer that employee pricing will be available tomorrow and can pick up my Jeep. Same for affiliate rewards I believe.

Where are you getting this source from? Who's your dealer

With affiliate pricing FCA gives the dealerships 2% back so to speak. The 1% below invoice for the customer and 1% to the dealership as an incentive. The dealership will still have holdback and such below this. Having Affiliate Pricing allows you to start the negotiations at a lower number. There is no guarantee your dealership will say ok 4% is fine. Depends on the dealership. Some won't do it without AP pricing others will.

14 Forester, JLUR coming soon
Joined TL on 8/6/19, ordered 2020 JLUR from Criswell on 8/8/19. Surprisingly arrived today, 8/23. While that's awesome build & delivery time, now i have to wait until Sept 6th to pick it up, to get the 8% discount. That is, if TL gets applied to the 2020s by the 4th. Fingers crossed!

My dealer told me it should be straightened out by today. I'll believe it when it happens, but I'm staying optimistic.

Did u order ur JL with advanced safety?
Nope. My wife's Pilot has the Auto braking/advanced cruise, and the former is annoying and the latter we never use. We're driving 5+ hours as a write this and no thought of using cruise at all. I'm all for the nanny systems if they keep you from hitting me, but I've been driving for 30+ years without any at fault incidents, mainly because I, you know, pay attention. I did get the safety package, because I do use blind spot monitoring.
