So 2 days ago I'm driving my 2020 Jeep Gladiator Rubicon to work and I'm stopped at a traffic signal when my Jeep decides to just shutdown. I noticed a warning in the dash "Stop Safely your vehicle will shutdown soon" type of message. I put it in park, tried to start it again and nothing. It would turn on into accessory mode, but wouldn't start. Acted like I didn't have my foot on the brake, when I certainly did. I'm now stuck in park can't move the Jeep in rush hour traffic. (I later found I could get it into neutral on the 4WD gear shift, but it didn't seem to work then, possibly anxiety related stress at the moment)

Got it towed to a nearby parking lot off the main road to troubleshoot. Disconnected the battery (both main and aux) and re-attached and it let me start the Jeep only to have it act like it's either running out of gas or is in bad need of a tune up is all I can describe it as. Couldn't get it in gear, no matter what gear I put it in it would just flash on the gear shift.

I replaced both batteries and things looked good for about 5 minutes. After idling for a bit, I jump back in the Jeep and notice the "Stop Safely, vehicle will shutdown soon" message again. Sure enough it shuts down 3/4 mile down the road again. Same issues as before. So, I decided to remove the battery cables and reconnect again.

Now all I get when I connect the battery is the dash lights blinking intermittently, wipers running without being on and the interior lights flashing randomly.

Has anyone had similar issues? If so, what was the resolution. My browsing has turned up a possible TIPM issue. Dealer quoted me $1000 for a replacement part on that. WHAT? I'd hate to spend $1000 and that not even be the issue.

You need to have it diagnosed; you're just guessing based on google. What you describe is generally a failure of the charging system. A lot of things can cause the charging system to fail, be it a loose connection or bad alternator.

Also the JL doesn't have a TIPM. It has a normal PDC, aka a simple fuse box.

Totally understand I should have it diagnosed. Just wondering if others have seen this issue. I didn't buy the part. I'm not going to spend $1000 for a simple fuse box, especially if that isn't the issue. What is the difference between a TIPM and a PDC?

PDC is just a fuse box. A TIPM is a module in it's own right that just so happens to have fuses and relays plugged into it. TIPM's can make decisions on their own, while a PDC just routes power

Well then $1000 for a simple fuse box that just routes power is simply ridiculous.

MSRP 419 dealer cost is 250. You're getting fucked in the A and it isn't even Saturday.
Not surprised, I hate my local dealer. If I do find out it's the PDC I'll shop it out.

Anyone else have these issues?
