Yea once they eliminate the manual it's gone for good except maybe special editions I think. Sad. I wonder how many people will not buy the JL for that reason alone.
You gotta figure even with 15-20% AT LEAST half of those people will just suck it up and buy an auto just to get into the Wrangler. There's really no substitute for one. Let's say they really are getting rid of the manual. Even if 10% of Wrangler buyers protest it wont be enough noise to make FCA change their minds.

No manual might be a deal breaker for me. I would even pay extra for the option.

Even if they give the JL a manual I don't see it being the same manual as in the JK. It not only presents space issues but is also a legacy Daimler part. They'd more likely throw in an FCA unit if they're gonna do it at all.

The automatic might be better for hardcore offroading but the manual is more fun the rest of the time. I honestly thought the Wrangler would've been one of the last holdouts for the extinction of the manual.
