There's going to be a tan soft top for the 2018 JK.. which means it's more than likely going to be on the JL as well. Also, the lower end "Freedom edition" is getting steel bumpers and BFG KO2s.. could mean good things for JL... but could also just mean Jeep found a way to make people want JKs over JL

Nice!

Woulda really liked a light coloured soft top going coast-to-coast this summer for the days when parked in the city or beach and keeping things 'less tempting' but also not cooking the interior in the meantime.

However, I think I would need to get a Green again or another colour body to better match the top.
If it was a white/cream soft-top then Orange would work well with it like a Creamsicle, or Purple, or Blue like the Chief.

However, all things considered even if it isn't offered on another platform, a tan (or white) soft-top isn't enough for me to overlook all the improvements in the JL and consider another JK.

Will be interesting to see if they keep the tan top around for JL.
JK versus JL is a toss up. If I can't get a JL in hand by March or earlier, it will be JK for me. Just cannot wait past the 75th Cherokees lease end for a top that come off! Especially having seen the Rhino Chief on the lot last weekend- Ooooohhhh!

But really would like the creature comforts some are bitching about on the JL. Not just to appease the wife and kids, but because paying $40k+, I think it's time.
Having bought my first '86 Cherokee sport in '95 for 3500 and then my 89 Wrangler in late 96 for $6800, the prices on cars are atrocious.

You said it. I bought my 1985 CJ-7 in 1989 for $6000. And my 1972 CJ-5 in 1991 for $1400. I've got a real love/hate relationship going on now with the new Wrangler. Excited to finally see it, but ready to projectile vomit whenever I think of dropping $40 grand on it, lol.
