Passing time while my Jeep waits to get out of JB, I looked up the interior measurements of the front seat. It shows that shoulder room dropped by 0.1" in the JL and hip room dropped by 1.7". This pretty much confirms what I felt when in it at the auto show and during my test drive. Leg room (length) stayed the same. They measure that at the furthest out position, so my 6'3" frame should feel about the same that way.

Did any other JK owners notice the hip squeeze? Is the console wider?

Yes, that was the first thing I noticed and didn't like.

Felt squeezed in the drivers seat and the console and shifter touched my thigh.

I drove one again after thinking about it and bought it............ Guess it isn't that bad after all. LOL

I played with the seat adjustments and found a very comfortable spot. I am happy now.
