Hey there,

Anyone here that has done a fan upgrade or something similar to handle hot temps in the summer months?
I recently moved to Greece, and in preparation for the summer I want to make sure my Jeep is ready to handle the hot weather.
I have checked out RPM Extreme fan controller, but they do not make this for our 2.2D engine.

I currently reach 95C coolant very easily when driving uphill, and it is only 15C outside now.

All the best,

You can always force your fan to run on high with a Tazer

Seems a bit of a hazzle to turn on the fan at high manually all the time.

It is a pain. I think the only thing that works is either a fan controller which is not an option for you or have your computer unlocked and reprogram the fans to turn on sooner. The temperature problem is caused by the fans not turning on. I installed the fan controller on mine and it dropped the temperature by 25 degrees. Upgrading the fan will allow it to cool down faster but won't turn the fans on any sooner.

Start by looking to see which fan you have, there is an 850-Watt fan - Mopar 68272755AA fan, which has a 40% higher powered motor, and larger cord blades of the fan, than the 600w that comes on most JLs.

With the issues of fans are not turning on sooner, it appears there are two popular solutions: 1- RPM fan controller and 2- the cool down feature from Tazer or other programmers.
However, I am always wondering that we can simply turn on A/C and that would force the fan to kick in, right? When I see the temp gets over 210, turning on AC would always drop it down to 200ish.

Please realize 95c/203f is right at the design temp for operation is, so it's normal.
