My new JLR 136 miles and I driven it 5 times would not engage reverse. Cold startup and 15 or so seconds foot on brake shift to reverse foot to gas and nothing. "R" starts blinking and I'm in neutral. Back and for the between P and R. R is solid light but by the time my foot hits the gas pedal it's back to blinking and drops into a neutral. In park running I checked the ATF and it showed on level indicator. I went back in and shifted to 4H and R but same issue. back to 2H and Reverse and this time it worked. Drove it around 50 miles and tried Reverse and it has been working fine. Wondering if anybody has had a similar experience.

Sounds like auto park - is your door closed fully and seatbelt fastened?

Pretty sure. What is auto park?
When the doors are on your Jeep, the AutoPark system detects whether the door is shut and the seatbelt is buckled. If BOTH of these are not done, the system puts the transmission back in park. So if you either close the door all the way OR buckle your seatbelt, it won’t AutoPark. When the doors are off, the system checks for weight in the drivers seat and if the sealbelt is buckled. Again, if BOTH of these are not done, the system puts the transmission inpark. With the doors off, you either have to besitting in the driver seat OR have the seatbeltbuckled to avoid AutoPark.

Usually a flashing “R” indicates autopark enabled.
