  1. Did Jeep drop Etorque for 2024?

Another eTorque fan here in my 2022 JLUR 3.6L. Its start / stop functionality seemed smoother than my previous 2019 BMW X5, which I was kind of surprised by.
  2. Have we all accepted that bad service dealership experiences are the norm and there's nothing we can ever do about it?

As much as I hate the sound of it, I agree with OP's original claim that because we are each a customer of one, the dealer is probably not as incentivized to care about providing quality service. So here's a question: why don't we become a customer of tens or hundreds? In areas where there is...
  3. Sign of electrified Jeep things to come?

The article talks about these eAxle prototypes for the Gladiator, but still... Magna shows off electric offroad powertrain, in-cabin tech (sae.org)
  4. Rust on rear wheel hubs?

I actually misspoke earlier. The rust I'm seeing on the rear is I think on the hat / cap of the rotor and not the wheel hub itself. I know rotors get replaced eventually anyway, but would it still be worthwhile to brush these up and spray them with a corrosion inhibitor?
  5. Rust on rear wheel hubs?

I've got about 7k miles on my 2022 Wrangler Rubicon Xtreme Recon. Today I did a 5-tire rotation. After pulling off each of my rear tires, I noticed that the wheel hub had a decent amount of surface rust. By contrast, the front hubs were fairly clean. So two questions: Is this normal? And...
  6. Go by dipstick or manual?

Simple question here but just want to be safe. Last year when I changed my engine oil for the first time in my 3.6L eTorque JL, I added 5 quarts just like the manual says. However, in the days afterward I noticed that when I checked the dipstick, the oil level was probably 1/8" or more above...
  7. New GMRS install & interference

Thanks CpT Papa. Just to make sure I'm getting it, since you have a carbon fiber bracket, you didn't make use of the metal "bite" piece that Midland included with the coax, and instead you ran a separate grounding wire ringed to your NMO assembly and your chassis. Right? In my case, my...
  8. New GMRS install & interference

That is correct. :) But it's OK... part of the process. I have some next steps to play around with and then hopefully can start eliminating certain explanations and get a bit more knowledgeable along the way.
  9. New GMRS install & interference

I like this idea and will probably start back at square one when I get back into town. I want to pull the radio out of the Jeep, power it with my portable battery, and connect the portable antenna to it just to get a baseline of how things sound. I'm fairly certain the antenna and bracket it's...
  10. New GMRS install & interference

So quick follow-up... early this morning, I tried a few alternatives (engine off) to see if I could clear up some of the constant interference. Since nobody was broadcasting on my local repeater, I used one of the NOAA weather channels to judge things. Also, I am using male-female push...
  11. New GMRS install & interference

Thanks! Regarding the ground, if you grounded the Midland to the battery, what did you do with the negative lead off the 12v adapter harness… just not use it? Would it be worth it to see if grounding the Midland to one of the ground posts close by behind the kick panel does the trick, or is it...
  12. New GMRS install & interference

Hmmm. Interesting. The excess 18” is definitely not coiled in nice loops, but I’m not sure if it is clearly pinched as currently folded. I’d have to take a look to be sure.
  13. New GMRS install & interference

Hey guys, need some help with my new GMRS setup. This weekend I installed the 15w Midland MXT275 install following fairly closely to an install by a fellow Jeeper over on the 392 forums (see here). I've got the base unit mounted behind the passenger kick panel (a little tricky, admittedly)...
  14. Planning ahead for ignition signal uses

Makes sense. If I'm pushing the bounds of what would be a sensible & robust approach (and sounds like I am), I think your suggestion makes perfect sense. Thanks for the help.
  15. Planning ahead for ignition signal uses

Ah... good point! Didn't realize that the rear camera (if I get one) might get powered from the front. Thanks for the tip.
  16. Planning ahead for ignition signal uses

Fair enough. I may not have been clear enough before (or not getting it myself!), so will try to explain differently. The ARB compressor I have now makes use of an ignition signal wire. As I understand it, this wire simply shows voltage when the ignition is on and no voltage when the ignition...
  17. Planning ahead for ignition signal uses

OK. Am I understanding correctly that by connecting my ignition signal as an input to the relay that the fuse block will either be fully “on” or “off” depending on the ignition? if so, this isn’t quite what I want since I may have other accessories connected to the fuse block which I want to...
  18. Planning ahead for ignition signal uses

Thanks. I should have clarified that my fuse block in the back is run off a separate auxiliary battery, not my starter battery. How would this change your suggested approach?
