I was wondering if anyone has gone up Painted Gorge and up Carrizo Mountain since the big storm a couple weeks ago. I am planning to take a small group of jeeps up there the first of October, and was wondering if the jeep trail is still passable. Thanks in advance.
Effective March 18 through June 30, all forest roads in the Big Bear area are closed to all motorized use. Please respect the closure, as much as we may not like it.
A few of us went up Carrizo Mountain today and it was awesome. The heavy rain a while back exposed a lot more rocks and washed out several areas. I love that trail. Perfect weather for a picture perfect run.
I believe that for the most part I am finished building the jeep.

You might say that I am a Metalcloak fan. I have completely set up my jeep with almost 100% Metalcloak gear. My first addition was the full underarmor for the diesel Rubicon. This was followed by rear diff skid. Then came the GC 3.5 and MC fenders and liners. I replaced the rear bumper and...
I am considering getting the quadratec stealth 12k winch. Does anyone have experience with this winch, good or otherwise. I appreciate your knowledge. Thanks.
I went to Extreme Terrain and bought the brake lines for the 2020 JL Jeep Rubicon. I was assured that the lines were plug and play. That the Power Stop lines would fit perfectly. WRONG. The brackets on the front brake lines do not fit on the jeep. When I contacted Extreme Terrain I was told...
I recently lifted my jeep and the brake lines and FAD lines were unclipped from the frame as recommended. I have the original brake lines and I noticed that the lines were hanging loose by the axles. I didn't like the looks of that thinking those lines could be snagged easily. I put a...
I admit that I am a Metalcloak fan. My 2020 JLURD is almost completely fitted with MC products. From complete underarmor to the 3.5 GC and now the rear bumper. The jeep handles extremely well with no wandering or death Wobble. Whenever I called the guy's at Metalcloak I was treated...
I just placed the order for the jl full size rear bumper. I don't see any way to attach the backup lights or the license plate. I already have the mopar 3rd brake light relocate so I am wondering what more I need to know the plate legal in California and have operational backup lights. Thanks.
A few of us decided to go out to the corral canyon ohv area and did a couple of runs. We had 12 jeeps inland a couple had open difs. We did Gunslinger and Diamond. If you look at the videos of the trail you would think that you have no obstacles. While the rock crawling isn't extreme, it...
At our monthly meeting last night it was disclosed that sandstone canyon is closed above the rockfall with signs saying foot traffic only, wilderness area. According to the maps I have the wilderness boundary is at the end of the canyon. If anyone can get information on this, please let us know.
This morning I got the "Service DEF system, contact dealership" message. When I called the service department was told to drive it unless some other code showed. I have an appointment in a week but was wondering if anyone else has had this problem.
I just received information from the forest service that the correl canyon ohv area area will remain closed until this time next year due to the valley fire. As I receive updates I will post them here.
I finally got the Metalcloak underarmor for the diesel installed today. Also the Rock Hard FAD skid plus the front and rear control arm, shock skids. Early next year I will get the GC. One step at a time. Budget allowing.
After waiting almost 5 weeks my underarmor for the diesel shipped today. I am really happy with this. My plan is to protect the underbelly first, then do the 3.5 MC GC lift followed by winch and bumpers. I ordered the rock hard LC skids for front and rear plus the FAD shield. Now to start...
I have been looking at the anza-borrego desert website and under road conditions it says that sandstone canyon is blocked 1/2 mile in and arrio del seco and diablo canyon also has landslides and is impassable. I would check it out but 110 degrees is a tad warm.
Anyone know what the conditions...
I bought the rock slide engineering slider and had off road warehouse install them back in mid March. Only been on the trail once and the slider took a little hit on some rocks. A couple of weeks ago the slider didn't retract when the door was closed. But it worked after I opened and closed...
I am considering replacing the stock diff covers with MC nodular iron covers. Off road warehouse quoted me an insane labor price of $425.00 to remove the stock covers, replace the oil and install the new ones. I contacted my local jeep dealership service agent and he said sure, we do it all...
If this has been addressed on a different thread, please forgive me. I have the JLURD and have been looking at putting underarmor on. Metalcloak has a great system for the diesel and is 7 (0.187 thick) gage steel. Rock hard also uses (7 gage or .187 thick) steel. The rock hard weighs around...
