Wow, this thread spiraled a bit haha.
update: 4 hours later I got my first Jeep wave service and they forgot about the check engine light…didn’t even mention it when I checked out!
I had them come back out and check the code - evap (gas cap) cleared it and said it’s super common with 4xe...
Finally got through to the service manager and they said they will take care of it without the fee. Now the fun begins to see what is wrong! I did check the gas cap when it first came on so it’s not that.
Ya I ordered the Basesquatch 2.7 4 dr. Definitely try and drive both if you can. 100% personal preference for sure, both will be a ton of fun to own no doubt. I am in NJ so my wheeling is pretty much beach and back roads in the state parks with a rare trip to PA.
So I ordered a bronco and picked up a lease for a Sahara 4xe from Chapman while I was waiting last summer. Since then I really have enjoyed the 4xe but wanted to close the door on the bronco before I bought out the lease so I sought after a few to drive.
sorry for the long review but TL;DR...
Love my 4xe! Be sure to check your tire pressure as most people have found it is way over inflated and the ride quality is much better when in spec. Also try it in 4H auto with the ice engine on and floor it! Congrats on the ride!
Update from yesterday’s trip to the dealer: same evap leak code as before but they couldn't find any leak. A PCM module software update was identified and turned out to be the resolution. Multiple RRTs (5) were also addressed . All good now and it should be the end of my CEL issues.
Second CEL for me with just about 2000 miles. First one was evap (gas cap issue). Took to dealer and they reset it and ran tests with no issue found. Now CEL on again a few weeks later @JeepCares . Going back to the dealer is really inconvenient. Is there any way to clear the CEL myself? Also...
Nice, I actually really like the look of the 4xe with 20s even though it’s not ideal for rock crawling or hardcore off-road. i live in south Jersey so it’s sand and back sandy roads not rocks. I do hate it didn’t come with all terrain tires though.
