  1. 7 pin tow harness

Yes, correct on both points! Forgot to add that mine did NOT have the factory harness pigtail.
  2. 7 pin tow harness

I installed the Mopar OEM harness and 7pin, running the cable along the top of the passenger frame rail (not inside the cabin). Most of the work was dropping my bellypan for access, the actual install took a couple hours I recall. Quadratech has a video useful in particular for showing...
  3. Info on Manual to Auto swap

I don't have an answer to your direct question. I did want to say that I have been happy with the 19A recall clutch, which I find better than the original. (At least, so it seems to me. While not the expert or most discriminating, most of my 50+ years driving has been with various MT).
  4. Tow Wiring Harness for Pop Up Camper

I installed Mopar harness. Pretty easy to route along top of passenger side frame rail. Later added Redarc brake controller, also straightforward once I located the right wire under dash.
  5. What Maintenance Do You Actually Do on Your Jeep?

18 JLUR @ 47k miles. I do simple stuff not requiring special tools (air filters, tire rotation, battery replacements, gearbox fluids, did fluids). Oil changes at the local shop where I take all my vehicles, partly so I don't have to mess with the used oil, mostly because they also do an...
  6. Third Row Seat JL Wrangler

When I was a teen I rode down the freeway in the back of a pickup. Wouldn't do it anymore.
  7. Hi-Lift Jack Mount advice

While not a tailgate mount, I really like the Dominion Offroad system. Fits very nicely in back, even makes a kind of shelf for soft items, tarps, etc.
  8. Anyone folding windshield for cleaning or driving?

Handy way to route cables into the passenger compartment.
  9. Front LCA torque - Jack stands

I always recall my late father's smashed big toenail, a result of a jack stand accident when he was a young mechanic, many decades ago. (Like the steel-in-eyeball in the HS chemistry safety glasses film, it's an image that sticks with me and conditions my actions).
  10. What’s the best scenery you’ve come across on the trail?

Two different times around the Owens Valley. Fall colors are from the Laurel Creek trail in eastern Sierra, the mountain goats at a creek crossing near the bottom of Silver Canyon Road in the Whites.
  11. Sunvisor issue

    TACCOM clips fixed mine.
  12. Wrangler reliability by years & generations: JK vs. JL comparison (by Autoblog)

My 2018 JLU has (so far!) been great. 50 years ago Road & Track magazine published owners' survey of best and worst features. I remember for the Audi 100LS that "Reliability" topped both lists.
  13. M.P.G.

    I average 19mpg. Mostly highway, typically ~ 70mph.
  14. 3.6 oil in cyl 5 and 6, do i have a problem?

It should not run rough. Do you have more than one dealer in driving range? I found--just trying to schedule recall work--that the two closest dealers neither answered their phones or returned calls. Finally (the sometimes maligned) JeepCares found me a not-to-distant dealer who immediately...
  15. 3.6 oil in cyl 5 and 6, do i have a problem?

Don't know if rough running is "normal" though I doubt it. My two 3.6s run smooth.
  16. California Campfire Permit

We have all our scouts get this after they complete campfire requirements.
  17. H7 VS H6 for battery replacement

On mine, the battery tray is H7 size with a spacer shim to hold the smaller H6. I changed to H7 and tossed the shim.
